Josh and Joe = Tom and Bill

So, consider this. The Pat's established a winning dynasty because Bill saw what Tom brought to the offense, hired a figure head in an OC coordinator and focused his energy on the defense. We can all agree that Tom was NE, not Bill. What Bill was, was wise enough to know what he didn't know, hire those who did and let the journey unfold with minimal disruption or big splashes in FA/Trades, etc.

 

Is this a blueprint Joe is more apt to follow versus Sean? I'm interested in your opinion(s).

I dislike the arguments that NE's success was all Tom, not Bill.

 

It was a symbiotic relationship, they both needed each other.

Bill hired Matt Patricia as his OC and Joe Judge as his QB coach. Yeah, let's hold off praise for knowing the right dudes to hire.

Bill needed Tom a lot more than Tom needed Bill.   Bill's career before and after Brady are proof.  Brady's career post Bill is as well.

Like most here, trading Sean for Joe, was mostly palatable enough, if not a bit of a dud on the excitement scale.... I do believe Joe has potentially put together a more complete staff than Sean has, at least since the 13 secs debacle.

 

Is:

Joe >>> to Sean ?  Isolated with no other context, at this point in their careers, today?  Probably not.  Sean had more intrinsic value, and next to 0 extrinsic value.  Brady has ok Intrinsic Value, and loads of extrinsic value.... in the way that a top draft pick in June has.

 

Is:

Brady + Leonhard + Carmichael  >>>  Sean + His Avg of OC's + Bobby Babich

 

I def see the potential for that.  And if they're able to even tie that in year 1, I think by simply having a different perspective & voice in the room, could provide much better results for the team this season.  Embracing the new!  Shedding some previous mental baggage they were carrying.  Could be enough to get us over the hump, along with a few other positive breaks our way!!

My days of talking again on TB and Belicheat are over.  I see no parallels there with JA and JB.
