When teams make moves like this in an effort to win now, it reminds me how Beane refused to give up a #1 for Waddle during a year where not having a good WR undoubtedly cost us a SB berth and then took that oh-so coveted #1 pick and traded it to another team during the draft before picking up another stiff for the DL in the 2nd round.

There are no SB guarantees, even for teams going "all in". It's actually hard to weight if it's better to have a strong playoff contendter for many years and thus chances at the Big One each year, or if going all out and then tanking and back again is the best way. Sure the Rams have won it, tanked, and now set as the top contender. But its ODDS, not guarantees.

Let's be real, in the Bills playoff losses against KC, flukes, bad luck, bad coaching calls, dubious calls by the refs have made it so the Cheaps move on and the Bills go home. But it was razor sharp decisions. It's not an exact science! If the Bills had won, Beane would be a genius and the Rams "desperate". Since it's the other way around, Beane is an idiot, conservative just to save his job.

Just like all the "JA17 is overhyped" talk, a Superbowl win would solve EVERYTHING. Fair and realisitc? Nope. But it is what it is. Just win, baby!
