I mean, I like it, but let's not celebrate yet. He's probably back on the PS in a couple days.

And potentially elevated as PR early on

Had to happen. Not a NFL player anymore unfortunately.

Way too many dropped passes in pre-season and Sherfield was just better.  Can Sherfield return punts?

1) Anderson can play tackle; Corbett was a LT in college.  I don’t think Lundt makes the team

2) I didn’t know Durant was hurt. Teams get a total of 8 return from IR, depending on how badly he’s hurt, I could see stashing him on air for a while.
3) You’re forgetting Gaines. I think ne makes team over Carter. Carter played entire 2nd half.

Fwiw, Joe B has Gaines, K Walker, Durant, and Adam’s on the 53, Carter and Lundt off.

Not forgetting Gaines. He's on my 53 alongside Carter. Durant is going to be here for sure.

I had Carter off the Roster, but then if you watched the last game, Durant came off the field with his arm dangling like it was dead. Went into the tent and didn't return.

There hasn't been an update. So maybe it's a slight stinger or something and no big deal. But it didn't look good. And if he's going to miss time he should be 4 Weeked to Return. We'll need 6 DT's with us constantly rotating 3 on the field at all times. And with Mathis Suspended, that would make the 6th Carter or Logue.

Are we putting other team's notable cuts in this thread?

As a former draft pick of ours at a position where our #4 option is still unsettled I could see an outside chance of us putting in a claim. Personally I'd take Austin over Walker but I don't know that the coaching staff feels the same way.

Based off of what???

I’ve heard nothing but good things about Walker, assuming you’re talking about Kani Walker.

The Patriots have cut CB Marcellus Dial, which doesn't move the dial.

The reason I'm mentioning it is because it means Drake Maye is the only player from their 2024 draft remaining on the roster.

In comparison, the Bills still have Coleman, Bishop, Carter (possible cut), Davis, Van Pran-Granger (possible cut), Solomon (possible cut), Grable (possible cut) and Clayton (possible cut).

OK, after today, they might be down to three on the roster and maybe a couple on the practice squad, but is still highlights the difference between the two.

I think Marcus Jones is their only player left from their ‘22 draft, and I think they only have 2 guys from ‘23.  They have zero depth and they are in for a huge regression this year.

1.) Adams wouldn't make it over Lundt. He's a Guard that doesn't play Tackle. And we'll carry 4 Tackles (as we always have). It's either Lundt or Broeker for the last spot.

2.) Durant left the last game with his arm dangling as he ran off field and went into the tent. It's likely he's going to miss time. With us fielding and rotating 3 DL at all times, we're going to carry 6. And with Mathis Suspended, the options are Carter or Zion Logue.

3.) See above

4.) Danna doesn't play Special Teams. Solomon is a core ST'er. And we've already lost 2 from our core (Gilliam and Lewis). So he sticks on the 53 over Danna for Teams. Danna is a prime candidate for vet PS. But if he doesn't make it, they feel good about Andre Jones too.

5.) Walker I've talked about in length before. So I'll keep it short - with the flexibility we have with guys like Alford (Nickel/Boundary), Hancock (Nickel/Safety), and Kilgore (Safety/Nickel), there isn't a need for a 6th. CB's are often claimed, but they're practically always vets. There were zero UDFA Rookie CBs claimed last season league wide. Walker is a low risk release for the Practice Squad. He'll follow the path of Cam Lewis and Ja'Marcus Ingram as a Rookie, imo.

As it's already been stated, throwing away production for the sake of securing a ST spot is foolish. If one of our LBs go down, give me production on that spot over ST. What you stated here sounds like something McDermott would do, Babich might not care, but I got a feeling Leonard would

And people say that Beane is terrible at drafting. Just look at what Belichick did.

If Beane had hit on one or two more first or second rounders (still possible) he’d probably be at or near the top of the list.

Solomon isn't just Teams, he's Core Teams. And like I said, we've already lost 2 core guys in Gilliam and Lewis. You aren't going to willingly give up a 3rd for a guy who would be no better than 3rd string. Bc he doesn't play Teams, he wouldn't dress unless someone was injured.

This isn't "McDermott" thinking. This is what all teams do. You need a core of 10 guys at the bottom of your roster that you can count on to send up and down the field all game and take the kamikaze bullets - so that your playmakers are staying fresh and aren't risking injury outside of Offense and Defense.

What you're suggesting is the short sighted "who cares about Special Teams, just put anyone back there" line of thinking. And it's not how NFL teams operate. If you're at the bottom of the Depth Chart - you pretty much have to play Teams.

Danna to me was brought in as insurance for Hoecht's rehabilitation possibly taking longer and/or an injury to any of the Top 3 guys. Since neither happened, there really isn't a spot for him. And it's not a good sign when you're playing as late into the last Pre-Season game as he was.

Final prediction (if no trades occur):

QB: Allen, Allen

RB: Cook, Davis, Johnson

FB: VanSumeran

WR: Moore, Shakir, Palmer, Coleman, Bell, Sherfield (Shavers - PUP)

TE: Kincaid, Knox, Hawes

OL: Dawkins, Anderson, McGovern, Torrence, Brown, Corbett, Cushenberry, Grable, Lundt (Bowry - IR to Return)

Edge: Chubb, Rousseau, Parker, Hoecht, Solomon

DL: Oliver, Walker, Sanders, Gaines, Jackson, Carter (Durant - IR to Return)

LB: Bernard, Williams, Elarms-Orr, Andreessen, Jenkins

CB: Benford, Hairston, Alford, IGB, Hancock

S: Gardner-Johnson, Bishop, Kilgore, Hamlin, Franklin

ST: Bass, Doman, Ferguson

Our OT depth going from Van Demark and Anderson to ….. this …… is not optimal at all.

I liked Broeker the most of all the tackles this preseason.

I’ll be all over the wire looking for someone to add.

There has to be an upgrade over these OTs getting cut somewhere this weekend.

Every team in the league is looking for backup or starting tackles.  It’s not easy to find one.

Oh 100 percent.

So count me in that group that thinks we need to find one more depth guy really bad.

I’d keep Broeker and consider him my swing OL right now.   Best backup at ever position except C - Corbett I guess would be my first G up tho.

Yeah, it's Broeker or Lundt if Bowry is going to miss time (and I think he will be IR'ed). And I can easily see it going to Broeker.

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Bills are releasing veteran returner and wide receiver Mecole Hardman Jr., a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler on Saturday.

A source also confirmed to ESPN that the team is releasing veteran punter Mitch Wishnowsky, with rookie punter Tommy Doman Jr. earning the starting job.
