Hamlin is not getting cut.  Our depth at Safety is way too thin and we did not address the position in the off season (Or we did and failed as Stone is not the answer).  May be we need to look at the Waiver wire for any Vet cut

He's been in a whole new defense and hasn't been a victim, like say, Stone. He's obviously limited but he's earned his spot at the bottom of the roster this year.

That’s been his MO as a GM. 

 

He has one of the greatest football players to ever put on a helmet and after nearly a decade, still hasn’t been able to find or acquire some real gamebreaking talent to go with him. 

 

RBs are a dime-a-dozen, so he gets partial credit for James Cook.

The Dolphins waived 2023 Bills Draft Pick CB Alex Austin - I could see Beane looking at him for at least the Practice Squad. He likes his reunions.

CB's are often claimed, but they're practically always vets. There were zero UDFA Rookie CBs claimed last season league wide. Walker is a low risk release for the Practice Squad. He'll follow the path of Cam Lewis and Ja'Marcus Ingram as a Rookie, imo.

1) Anderson can play tackle; Corbett was a LT in college.  I don’t think Lundt makes the team

2) I didn’t know Durant was hurt. Teams get a total of 8 return from IR, depending on how badly he’s hurt, I could see stashing him on air for a while. 
3) You’re forgetting Gaines. I think ne makes team over Carter. Carter played entire 2nd half. 

Fwiw, Joe B has Gaines, K Walker, Durant, and Adam’s on the 53, Carter and Lundt off.

Are we putting other team's notable cuts in this thread?

 

As a former draft pick of ours at a position where our #4 option is still unsettled I could see an outside chance of us putting in a claim. Personally I'd take Austin over Walker but I don't know that the coaching staff feels the same way.

The absolute worst for some of these players who make the initial 53 is to get cut after the Bills scout the waiver wire and other teams cuts and bring in a player to take their place...happens quite a bit around the NFL and it must feel like going from the highest of highs to getting gut punched and kicked while you are down in a matter of a day or two.

The Patriots have cut CB Marcellus Dial, which doesn't move the dial.

The reason I'm mentioning it is because it means Drake Maye is the only player from their 2024 draft remaining on the roster.

In comparison, the Bills still have Coleman, Bishop, Carter (possible cut), Davis, Van Pran-Granger (possible cut), Solomon (possible cut), Grable (possible cut) and Clayton (possible cut).

OK, after today, they might be down to three on the roster and maybe a couple on the practice squad, but is still highlights the difference between the two.
