Ayjent Posted August 28 Posted August 28 https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/49734084/2026-nfl-season-most-watchable-teams-ranking-excitement-bears-rams-lions-chargers Another list gimmick article but holy crap is there any way the Bills are a middle of the pack draw? The Bills with less excitement than the Vikings, Bucs and Commanders? I mean my list of sports media outlets would probably have ESPN somewhere below the NY Post and USA Today. 4 1 Quote
Drew21PA Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Josh Allen experienced itself makes it top 5 i mean this is ESPN what do they know about viewership? 3 5 4 1 Quote
Fan in Chicago Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Lol. And yet Bills prime time games regularly rank up there in Nielsen ratings. The Josh Allen led Bills team is excellent entertainment. I won't click on that article to give it a view. 4 8 2 Quote
mannc Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Absurd. Every year, Bills nationally-televised games are the highest rated NFL games of the season, and they have been involved in far more than their share of “instant classic” games. 5 Quote
Don Otreply Posted August 28 Posted August 28 (edited) Who were they asking??? smells like click bait, Edited August 28 by Don Otreply 2 Quote
dayman Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Bills have: - winning/playoff record/implications every year - more classic games recently than anyone - the most recognizable star in the league around the world - the number 1 team in 🇨🇦 There’s a reason they’re on at night so much 1 Quote
dorquemada Posted August 28 Posted August 28 The must have hired some of the dummies from buzzfeed at espn Quote
NORWOODS FOOT Posted August 28 Posted August 28 No way man! They’re at least like, 12, or something Quote
May Day 10 Posted August 28 Posted August 28 I gazed at this yesterday and it made no sense. Not only the bills, there were many odd choices, which makes me suspect the guy just chose a randomized order 1 Quote
Lost Posted August 28 Posted August 28 To be fair, the Bills lack of downfield passing offense was pretty boring to watch last year compared to the Diggs years. 1 1 1 Quote
Ayjent Posted August 28 Author Posted August 28 The criteria were 4 things: Big Plays, Star Players, Competitive Games, and Nothing Offensive (which frankly didn't make any sense in the article in terms of a criteria where it is full of inherently contradictory statements). The first 3 are fine criteria, but what really gets you excited about the Texans offense (the turnovers, the stalled drives, the lack of execution) or the Bucs propensity to crap in their hats in close games last year with a team that clearly regressed and lost one of its best players in franchise history, the listless Commanders with a QB that thinks he owns a Number he wore in perpetuity and a lack of excitement in the local region where they play. I don't actually mind lists if they are actually fun and make valid points - this one, well...it starts the Bills section by rationalizing a clearly bad take. 1 1 Quote

billsfanmiamioh Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Sports media in general sucks now, but ESPN is especially pathetic. 2 1 2 Quote
Donuts and Doritos Posted August 28 Posted August 28 ESPNOOO! Hold the articles, Hold the analysis, All we ask, Is that you let us, Turn ESPN off. Quote
colin Posted August 28 Posted August 28 To me this is a fantasy football take. All the fantasy football stars end up getting either huge plays at rb, or just lots and lots of targets. Everyone eats (James cook aside) has meant we are a fantasy football underperformer especially compared to our QB (who dominates the stat line, at least he did till 24). On d they want to see excitement and huge plays, and our d has been about preventing big plays and opportunistic turnovers. Fewest possessions in the NFL, highest running rate, second highest rate being run on all leads to less over the top stuff than before. I think it shifts next year, but being a team w some fantasy football darlings and doing well is the recipe for these guys 1 Quote
Ayjent Posted August 28 Author Posted August 28 Thankfully sports media has better content nowadays with Locked On, Cover 1, and other podcasts. I wish some of them had better access to footage, like Joe Marino's pod I feel would be better if it did, but he does a daily episode and video editing and clearance probably is a whole different level of effort that isn't going to bring him much more in terms of viewers/listeners. eball Posted August 28 Posted August 28 Yeah, not clicking. I don’t live in WNY, and I frequently have friends telling me how much they enjoy watching Allen and the Bills. Whatever metric they used, it’s crap. 1 Quote
SoCal Deek Posted August 28 Posted August 28 I assume that’s why NFL Network forced us to listen to the Raiders game during our game-winning drive. Rat bastards! 1 2 Quote
