HappyDays Posted August 24 Posted August 24 This is actually kind of annoying. Boutte is a legit WR and a better player than Jayden Higgins at this point in their careers. So this is a net improvement for the Texans WR room and makes our week 1 matchup a bit more challenging. At least we'll get them early before he has a chance to develop chemistry with Stroud. 2 4 Quote
4th&long Posted August 24 Posted August 24 I was thinking the same thing sucks he went to the Texans before we played them, but I’m glad he is off the pats! 2 1 Quote
HappyDays Posted August 24 Author Posted August 24 The Pats basically gave him up for free so that's nice. I'm a bit surprised. I was impressed with him last year, I thought some team would give them at least a 5th. 1 Quote
Rigotz Posted August 24 Posted August 24 Net benefit. You have to play the guy once instead of twice and he only has a few weeks to learn the playbook. I've always thought he's pretty good, so I'm happy to see Drake Maye have less weapons. 3 1 Quote
sven233 Posted August 24 Posted August 24 I actually like him a lot. He does a lot of things that most of the guys on our team can't do. He would easily be WR3 on our team but there wouldn't be a chance in the world the Pats* would have traded him to us even if we were interested. Annoyed that he's going to the Texans, especially when we play them out of the gate, but glad he is no longer a Patriot*. 1 Quote
mushypeaches Posted August 24 Posted August 24 Wow, I would have given them Hamlin and SVPG for this guy 3 Quote
BillsPride12 Posted August 24 Posted August 24 (edited) I knew the Texans would make a play for a WR once Higgins went out for the year. Glad to have Boutte off the Pats but if the Texans can manage to play Offense at an average NFL level this year they are my sleeper team coming out of the AFC. This is a good get for Houston Edited August 24 by BillsPride12 Quote

Miyagi-Do Karate Posted August 24 Posted August 24 Tough for a new guy to get up to speed for week 1 at this point. Quote
BillytheKid Posted August 24 Posted August 24 Who cares. Not scared of the Texans or Patriots. 1 Quote

Agreed, the Texans have a great defense, but CJ Stroud will cost them more games than win games for them. I could see him crapping down his leg the first week of the season. Quote
Big Blitz Posted August 24 Posted August 24 NE really wants Houston to beat us. Some 4D chess stuff right here. 2 2 Quote
947 Posted August 24 Posted August 24 Boutte was gonna be behind AJ Brown & Doubs, and he's a UFA after this year. He gets to be WR2, but on a worse offense, to showcase himself for free agency. Quote

And we do not know what our dfense looks like yet Texans game might be a butt clencher ! Good trade for the Texans on paper 1 Quote
Royale with Cheese Posted August 24 Posted August 24 Going from Drake Maye to CJ Stroud has got to be disheartening. 2 Quote

The question for me is whether he's better than Jayden Higgins prior to his injury but with only 20 days to absorb an entirely new offense. Quote

We are going to be racing the Pats for the division. Net positive IMO. 2 Quote

I think he’s cheeks. We still had a chance to win against them last year. I think Moore will help open things up. Last year, teams could crowd the LOS due to 0 threat of the deep passing game. They’re almost better off with Mills as their QB. Stroud cost them the playoff game against NE. Edited August 24 by Captain Murica 1 Quote
