Oh no Bowry is hurt. They definitely didn't just hand him a walking boot and say "put this on" so they can IR him and give him a redshirt year. That would be against the rules.

Yeah Bowry just isn't playable right now unfortunately. Broeker getting time at RT against Cleveland was interesting and makes me think he now has a good shot to make the roster.

Every player is injured at this point in the offseason. If it was Spencer Brown they'd give him a shot and he'd be back on the field next week. With a rookie who looks like he needs a redshirt year they can use the injury as an excuse to give him just that. It's a perfect arrangement because Bowry would be effectively useless on the active roster right now but they obviously can't cut a high 4th round pick.

He went into the medical tent during the Browns game.

Lucky they have multiple weeks to heal up still before the regular season starts.

They way I've always looked at is guys who likely are listed as "probable" during the season would be held out of TC. 
 

We probably don't get a real idea of injury severity until the prep for W1 starts.

While not about this specific injury, Joe Marino of Locked on Bills, has called out that Beane will need to do some "roster gymnastics" with Bowery as he is not likely to clear waivers to be stashed on the practice squad. According to Joe, Bowery's play has not justified an outright roster spot as he is being outplayed, in Joe's opinion, by a 7th round pick.
