They assume it's a mix that might look like a pit, like my old neighbors dog, and automatically call it a pit. My neighbors dog is a blue healer/rotty mix. It looks like a pit but it's not but people call her a pit all the time. This times 100. If its got short hair they default to "pit". Everyone thought my dog, who was the most lovable dog ever, was a pit because he had short hair. And he was a mix of a boxer and bourdeaux, but everyone thought he was a pit. And if you put them side by side he didn't look anything like a pit in size, shaper or head. Quote

I don't think I would mistake that breed for a pit. But I certainly would get the ***** outta there real quick! Quote

He lived beach front with off leash on the beach every day with his other doggie friends, people, kids, and even the neighbors cat. He was a legend and everyone knew and loved him. He was a handsome sweet boy. Although you wouldn’t want to enter my house uninvited. Invited he would sit on your lap and suck up all the intention. Come in uninvited you would have a bad day. He was such a good boy 1 1 2 Quote

Actual statistics never matter to an STFU guy Quote

To the point where everyone would beg to watch him whenever I went out of town. 😂 1 Quote

Whereas DNA breed signatures identified only 25 dogs (21%) as pit bull-type, shelter staff collectively identified 62 (52%) dogs as pit bull-type. Keep spouting the "statistics" from the website of a dog bite victim on a crusade to ban pits. I'm sure there's no bias there. 1 Quote
