Not a bad thing for preseason game 1 - I hope Moore is truly ok. He is the keystone for the offense. He has to stay available all playoffs. - Walker. Stud. - Would like to see TJ Sanders flash more....(Did Jackson get reps before him??) - Bernard has juice and the Will suits him more - Alford and Hancock can both play and it's SO nice to have at least a single layer of depth there - Brady appears to be as detail oriented as he should be and I like that. I especially love the challenge flag. He knows it wasn't going to be overturned, it was about the process - Bowry EDIT: I'm not sure what player or play I misattributed to Bowry to make me think he might be doing ok during the live game, but focusing on him in a rewatch is a rough watch. He did not play well. Need to see better from a swing tackle - TJ Parker doesn't look like a year 1 recurring impact player but he also showed reason for optimism. - Danna had some legit pass rush reps. Will be interesting to see him against better comp - This locker room loves Kani Walker. I also think Pride, despite the PI, can tackle well. He'll make the practice squad, but looks shaky in actual coverage - Latu had some nice moments - I did not expect to enjoy Kyle Allen or Shane Buchele offenses but I did lol - Wheeler can play. Gore Jr can too but Wheeler is fast. - LOVE our new punter. Even though they are more vanilla in preseason, the new offense and defense coordination looked good so far! The stadium showed up great on TV! HappyDays Posted August 15 Posted August 15 For the first time in years I have no concerns about the WR room. That isn't to say we have an elite group, but it's no longer a weakness either. The addition of Moore gives Allen a legit boundary option, and the downwind effect is that every other WR is slotted down one spot in the pecking order which immediately makes them look better. Shakir and Coleman now have more space to operate from and you saw that today. Reports from camp have been that the downfield passing game is making a comeback and we saw it show up on both opening drives. And that was without seeing any passes to TEs or RBs which we know will be a big part of the passing offense come the regular season. Allen himself looked sharper than ever. I continue to believe this will be the best offense of the Allen era. On defense, tackling was on point today. I don't remember a single missed tackle from the starters. I think the OLBs are lacking some juice, maybe Hoecht coming back will give us some of that, but either way the interior has the potential to be dominant with Walker and Oliver wrecking people. Even just as a preseason vanilla defense it looks vastly different from what we've seen the last few years. Different isn't always better but the early returns look great. Haven't been this optimistic about the team in a while. 26 1 4 2 Quote
