For me: - SBXXXIII Packers. Loaded. Previous SB winner - SBXXXVI Rams. Super loaded. Previous SB winner - All the Brady SB losing teams. Best coach (allegedly), best QB definitely -SBLV Chiefs. Dynasty team. -70s Cowboys? Before my time. I think it hurts the 90 Bills that they lost to a weaker Super Bowl champion in the Giants. But if the Bills won that game they’d be a top 20% Super Bowl championship team, in my opinion. I don’t know enough about their defense. Big time sack guy? I know they were solid with MVP Esiason, and arguably the greatest LT of all time in Ontario CA’s own Anthony Muñoz, but where the stars at? No Reed, no Thurmal, no Bruce. Kelly edges Eiason. That’s what I was thinking about them. But they should’ve beaten that strange 49ers. That 97 Packers team was also really good. Coached by already impressive Don Shula and with future HOF players John Mackey and Unitus(injured in preseason and did not play until coming off bench in Superbowl). That team was on a mission in 89 to go beat the niners and get back to the super bowl and they got called for a terrible Pass Interference vs the rams in the divisional round which led to overtime and they lost the toss and made a mistake in the secondary and gave up a td. Season over. They came back in 90 and were incredible. One of the toughest and most physical teams to have ever played. In 89 and 90 the Giants went 25-7 in the regular season and won the best division maybe in the history of football two years in a row. That 90's Giants team was a freight train of physicality. There is no shame in the Bills losing to that group. The coaching staff alone is going to end up with Three Hall of famers in Parcells, Bellichick and Coughlin...plus they had mike pope an all time great tight end coach, romeo crennel, ron erhardt and charlie weiss. It still hurts that kick went wide right. I don't see any shame in the loss though. They hung in there and drove down the field to win the game and the kick just missed. I think it sucks they lost to that cowboys team in 93 though. They had the game and Aikman was not right. They blew it in the second half. Super Bowl 25 to me is still the best super bowl. The colors of the uniforms, the characater(s) on the sidlelines, hall of fame players all over the place, the grass field in tampa, the moment in history, Whitney frigging houston...etc. Its still to this day incredible. Then they went and beat what was at that point the greatest dynasty in the history of the nfl on the road with a backup quarterback who had never played in the seven years he was in the nfl. Parcells had (has) a major beef with the way the niners operated particulalry how bill walsh operated. Parcells has told the story lots of times about how everytime the giants went to SF to play them under walsh the giants headsets went out on the opening of the game....that meant that the giants defenders didnt have the ability to talk to the sideline, meanwhile the 49ers invented the 15 game opening play script. so they knew what they were doing. The 49ers in 3 games in the postseason vs Parcells teams in 85, 86 and 90 scored a total of 19 points. Walsh really rubbed Parcells and Belichick the wrong way and in the playoffs the Giants physically beat the hell out of their pretty offenses. That 90's Giants team should have won at least 2 super bowls. 1 Quote

They were great and they don't seem to get the recognition in NFL history as they should. That Super Bowl is more looked at as the Bills choking than the Giants winning the game But I disagree that going into it people were looking at it like a Pick Em game. The Bills were 7 point favorites in Vegas, had already beaten the Giants in the Meadowlands without Kelly towards the end of the regular season and were just coming off an absolute thrashing of the Raiders in the AFC Championship game. They were definitely the favorites heading into that Super Bowl and I still think they were the best team in the NFL that season. But yeah that Giants team was much better than they seem to be remembered for. 2 Quote
