Maybe. Ciarlo was in a similar position last year and he was able to impress in a short time.

 

They probably don't want Benford playing much or at all. Maybe the same for Dee Alford. And Hairston and Kani Walker have been sitting out practices. 

 

So this is basically just bc they needed an extra body for the Pre-Season.

I don’t care what kind of big deal I was in college, if I’m that kind of athlete who is flirting with the fringe of a roster every season, I’m going to do everything in my power to make myself a good option for special teams.

Exactly! Practice Squad players, if they stick for all 18 weeks, make over $300,000. What else are they gonna do that earns that much?

That's actually really good money for effectively your first job out of college. It's more than starting associates at Kravath, Swaine, and Moore make ($225,000 a year to start out).

Need a body for the first preseason game. Not going to play Benford, Hairston nixed up . Probably don’t want to play Igbinosun more than a quarter tops so Pride and Walker will probably be getting the bulk of the PT but need guys for the 2nd half

Signed LB Otis Reese IV & placed LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles on Injured Reserve.
