It would be a crime against the world of sports if he does not get one. Even more so if (heaven forbid) it is not with the Bills (would be typical Biilsy though)! I hope Allen retires a Buffalo Bill! Sierra Foothills Posted August 12 Posted August 12 I'm in my 60s and became a Bills fan in 1968 (bad timing, believe me)... and I honestly want the Super Bowl for Josh more than for myself. That said, I want it for the city and fans equally... and our fates are inseparable so it's a moot point. We're all gonna be ecstatic together someday or we won't. But because of the type of person he is and how he represents us, Josh is my favorite pro athlete of all time so I primarily want it for him. 2 Quote

The 70's were mostly bad, 84 and 85 was miserable as was the playoff less streak. This fanbase really deserves to celebrate a championship. In fact, I do not even remember why it was so ALL important to begin with... but it has morphed into some kind of obsession or bucket list item to complete a full life... clearly nuts if you really break it down.. but real for many of us none the less. Maybe it would just remove the feeling that we are unfairly cursed... or just for once let us respond by pointing to the scoreboard... ultimately almost 120 seasons between the Sabres and Bills amounting to exactly 0 times we won it all (Super Bowl/Stanley Cup) ...highly improbable mathematically... highly palpable in reality... its no longer the elephant in the room... it IS the room... Literally nothing that happens with the exception of winning it all really means anything to a lot of us... especially those of us who go back to the early 70s... so many years, so much disappointment and so many excuses.... Funny thing is this is supposed to be fun, the friends I have made along the way I would not trade to erase the feeling of not getting it done... its supposed to be entertainment... for some of us, our happiness hangs on rooting for the achievements of a bunch of guys we consider family but may never meet...as we take identity in them accomplishing the ultimate goal... if we had to explain it to an alien they would think we are nuts.. but we dont need to explain it to each other... cause we know... all of us... we truly know... this to me is the essence of being a Bills fan... That is a good thought but there is only 1 thing your forgetting, those that have had season tickets since the Rock Pile days already have 2 AFL Championships that they can say they were there for true they weren't NFL championships but they were championships none the less . With that in mind I want 1 for Jsh because of the times that he & this team have been screwed on the bad calls by the Refs a Championship for him would be a bit of redemption in some small way . Also I'm thinking that it would be that too fro the guys from the 90's teams ... But maybe that's just me ?? 1 Quote
