Lazy reporting - Josh Allen "a source of frustration" for Bills staff

This is just lazy and stupid "reporting." Josh Allen supposedly creating frustration because he changes blocking. That is his job, read the defense and make the call accordingly. No mention that he is making the wrong call. Nothing to support the inane idea that the play must be run exactly as it is called regardless of what the D presents.

Maybe he has to shift the linemen to improve his sightlines due to an obstructed view. These people may have to understand we have to make certain concessions to ensure the offense has the right fit and finish. It has to be a sound system in order to score points and the QB need to adjust.

 

All in all, this just seems like a bunch of confused wind from some blowhard media type.

Yeah, and Brady and Josh have both talked about how they immediately met after Brady was hired as HC and made an agreement that they would hold each other accountable. It’s been discussed several times.

If he's your franchise QB and has been playing at Allen's level, I would think you let him make the call at the line.  

He's seeing the defense directly in front of him.  

 

I think Allen liked McDermott a lot as a coach and person but I am getting the sense that he started not liking the philosophy.  But Allen is a stand up professional, he just did his job.  I think Allen is feeling more free now and Brady wants Allen to feel more free - I think we see Allen play much more aggressive this year and he's pumped.

I want to loosen things up for Josh. As far as I’m concerned Josh is the sun. Everything revolves around him. That’s what I’ve advocated for. The more control he has the better. We will win or lose based on him. No player in football is more important. Empower him to whatever level he wants. This is a positive development IMO.

The premise of this article/pod segment or whatever it is beyond stupid.  It is based on absolutely nothing.  “People around the league” ?  Seriously?  These guys must have gone to the Tyler Dunne school of journalism.  What a couple of nitwits.  Josh Allen changing protections - oh the horror!  That is what good quarterbacks do.  What a complete waste of air they are.
