If you can’t afford or justify the cost of Sunday ticket, NFL+ is a great option (currently 20% off)

I had NFL Sunday ticket for years, and really enjoyed it. Once DIRECTV was bought out and deals became more sparse, I switched to NFL+ and love it.

 

The only caveat is that you can’t watch the majority of games live, which isn’t a big deal for us because we’re used to not watching the games live (and staying off our phones until after we do watch it 🤣).

 

There’s a deal going on right now where you can get a year’s subscription for 20% off at $79.99, which is way more affordable than NFL Sunday ticket.

 

The other cool thing about NFL+ is that if you don’t have all the subscriptions to watch games outside of Sunday afternoons (prime, peacock, etc.), NFL+ will still have the game available after the game is over. This has always been a huge disadvantage of NFL Sunday ticket, especially with all of the games that are streamed now.

NFL+ has been my biggest annual NFL expense for years (except for the rare years when I watch the Bills live). 

 

The app is glitchy but it remains worth it to me. 

 

Edit: the Bills being a good team that people want to watch makes it a no brainer. I feel like I can watch at least 50% of the games live with it.

Just a side note the app works really poorly with my lg TV’s.   Games on replay just never play.  The screen just stays black.

 

seems to always work fine on my roku and pc/phone.

Been getting NFL + Premium for many years. I live in Buffalo so I almost always catch the Bills live, but I watch a ton of condensed games every season. For example, on Monday nights I’ll usually watch 2 or 3 of the better matchups instead of MNF. Even watching 3 I’m done in about two hours. Oh, and on the rare occasions that I get to see the Bills live, I usually rewatch the game on it so I can see what I missed. 

 

Bonuses are that you miss a lot of the announcer chatter on the condensed and the All 22 is great for digging into a player or scheme. No sound on the latter so I just put on music. Highly recommend.

I've never evangelizing this option for years now. I was deeply disappointed with Sunday ticket on YouTube because as an out of town fan it was ONLY for 1 and 4 pm games that were not on local broadcast so I only used it once or twice.

 

NFL + premium lets me watch the local broadcast games on my phone, comes with RedZone and has the radio broadcast streaming so on the Sundays where I don't get the game I can throw on RedZone and listen. It won't shock you that I think radio commentary is better than listening to Collingsworth

I've had it for a few years. Once or twice I used it for 'time-shifting' to watch a one o'clock game, and started watching after 4pm (the approximate time when the game is complete and then shown on NFL+)

But, I like to check in with this crew live during the game, talk to family friends as it's being played, listen to post game analysis, etc. So, I prefer to watch in real time so I can enjoy those benfits.

But NFL+ is great for reviewing the game later on, especially the condensed version that skips all the minutiae and shows rapid-fire play after play. Also, around June when I start getting football (Bills) fever, I can get primed by going back and looking at the games from last season. 

With the NFL+ game replay feature, I believe you can watch any NFL game going back to 2009. 

With the NFL app you can also specify 'your team' and it will quickly bring up content from the team's media team - pressers, interviews, etc.

For $79, it's a bargain. As a recurring subscriber they got an extra $20 from me. Still worth it.

I'll probably get the NFL Sunday Ticket using one of the discounts (first responders in the family) to pay around $200.  Not a great value for only maybe (+/-) 8 games not streaming or broadcast in Atlanta, but worth it for the convenience of living room comfort. Also nice to be able to see other non-Bills games when the local channels are showing the crappy NFC South games.

I don't spend a whole lot of cash on other non-necessities and have zero debt, so a few hundred bucks each year to enjoy Bills' football is my one self-indulgence. I'm worth it. 😉

I think I can get away with the "new user" rate for ST this year.  My son and I have been splitting it, but its always been in his name.  I can just put in my name this year.  

 

I prefer Bills games live, the rest of the games, not so much.  But what I do like about YTTV is the multiview feature to watch 4 games at once.  

 

Idk.  Im still old school, lazy man on Sundays during the season.  Sunday afternoon comes, leave me alone for a few hours.

you actually use the LG remote and their TV interface?    damn you're a patient man.   i thought everybody just automatically bought a Roku stick for their TV's.  Simple, small remote, easy to navigate, talk to text, has a beeper for lost remote, can use your phone as a remote.

I face something similar.
 

When I try to use my NFL+ app on my TV, it can struggle at times. But when I use the NFL+ app on my Fire stick, it usually works well.

 

Don’t know why that is.

LGs are known as great TVs with horrible software/OS. I have firesticks on all of mine as well. The apps work way better there.

I was looking into YouTube tv to watch bills games this year. Is it worth the cost?

Still annoys me with NFL+ that you can’t have a designated TV for the games they broadcast live. It’s exclusively mobile/tablet. 
 

With this day and age they could easily establish what is an actual residence versus a potential broadcasting establishment for a game. You can’t even screencast the game unless that’s changed over the last year?

If you’re doing it just for bills games, I’d say no.
 

You can get NFL+ for $79.99 for the year and I believe YouTube TV isn’t the most affordable monthly.

 

If it’s for more than just bills games, then that may be a different story.

I definitely hear what you’re saying, but I wonder if it’s more than just the establishment situation (ie - a bar) you’re referring to.
 

If NFL+ would show every game live through the TV, then it would be way better than the NFL Sunday ticket (since it shows streaming games like prime, Netflix, etc. after the game is over) and way, way more affordable. It’d pretty much render NFL Sunday ticket as not needed.

 

Not having many live games to watch on your TV is probably part of the trade-off of it being way more affordable.

NFL+ is a staple for me.   That, plus RedZone channel catches most of the action.   You don't miss much.  Many Bills games are national prime time, so not a huge problem.  Full game replays within a few minutes of game end.   Good enough for me.  Cuts most of the ads out.   I can usually hack a stream of the Bills vs. oddball team out there somewhere as well.   Might miss a few live games but whatever.  

 

Fun to replay all the weekend games during the week.   Helps with fantasy planning as you get all the commentary, etc.  Watch while working out usually.
