Blue vs. Red Scrimmage — Stadium Stuff

Thought I’d start a couple of threads for today. This one just for observations/photos/comments about the stadium, and another one for actual scrimmage thoughts.

 

Feel free to merge if the mods don’t like it.

In a way, this is one of the most important days/events in franchise history. This is the first day in the rest of the franchise history. The Buffalo Bills will remain the Buffalo Bills for generations to come.

My plan is once I get in, find my seats, check out the view, then just wander around looking at the different stands, stuff, and find the nearest bathroom.

The thing I want to know most about the new stadium is how fast I can get to pee and back.

 

I'm an odd person I admit upfront to save you having to type that to me!

 

I never make it through a game without having to go at least once and halftime is a zoo so I've always tried to time it just right during the games to not miss anything

 

One of the things I hate worst in life is to hear the whole stadium erupt in a roaring cheer when I'm in the tunnel and can't see a thing!!

I have trauma from that!😩

I'm freaking out a little bit just thinking about those times now.

 

So that's what I care about most of all. How fast I can get to pee and back.

Gourmet snacks, wifi, colorful scoreboards, seats covered or not, artwork, any of the fancy stuff, I'd trade it all to be able to get to the bathroom and back during a TV commercial break!

 

So if anybody wants to tell me about that I'd sure appreciate it!

The Rochester Americans came to play in Buffalo for the playoffs because the circus was at their arena. Game went into overtime and it was my turn to buy beer. Line was huge, just as I get to the counter the horn goes off everybody cheering. They stopped beer sales. Not only did I not get the beer, I missed the overtime game winning goal 🤦‍♂️😩😩😩

What time does it start?

I would say both the answer and solution to your problem could be solved with one word. Depends.

I certainly hope you're right.

But "generations to come" doesn't mean what it used to mean.

Mile High Stadium: 1960 - 2000. 40 years.

So-called Empower Field at Mile High: 2001 - 2030. 30 years.

I won't be surprised if the new stadium is considered antiquated in 20 years.

Or at least for the next 20 years, when the contract allows a buyout.

We had seasons in the old stadium in row 36 of the lower bowl (about 6 rows from  the top of the aisle. I could make it to and from the nearest bathroom during the 2 minute warning.

That’s about right. Maybe it’ll be 30. We have reached a point though where relocation won’t ever be considered. There may be another stadium in my lifetime but the Bills leaving WNY isn’t a thing anymore. The region, fan base, ownership and the state have stabilized this beyond the life of the new stadium. The economics of the NFL shifted from those days in the 1990’s where people thought a bigger market could drastically change their situation. They will be here for generations.
