He’s a good receiver but he’s definitely more of a number 2. This is kinda of a desperate contract for them. They have done a poor job of getting Lamar good WRs so they have to completely overpay the one “star” they get.

it’s so weird that dumb fans put Lamar and Josh against each other when they are in very similar situations.

Nobody is going to be a top 10 WR with Lamar.

True, good point. Guess that furthers the point that this is the going rate for 1,200 yard WR's.

Not to be pedantic and no slight to you ... but every one of us is paying 100% of our team's players!   We're paying to the Bills, to Dick's Sporting Goods, to Ticketmaster, to Amazon Prime, to Sirius, to Spectrum, to Nike, to the auto dealership that advertises on WGR, to SportsFan Attics, to .....

I'll go along with this when you can start issuing W-2's to players as a business owner.

Make those draft picks count, boys and girls.

Funny enough, Flowers is now only the 3rd WR drafted by the Ravens to ever get a 2nd contract with them. In franchise history. (Bateman, Jermaine Lewis being the others)

This makes the DJM contract look even better

That's why Moore cost a 2nd. The contract was as appealing as the player. Any premium position player that signed their new deal 2+ seasons ago is already way under the market value for that position. $24.5M AAV is a steal for even a #2 WR these days, and I think Moore is a borderline #1.

Gotta actually Draft WR's to "make those draft picks count" - in this situation...

Zay Flowers was a 1st Round Pick. Beane has never selected a WR in the 1st Round. And Keon Coleman is literally the only WR he's ever selected on Day 2 of the Draft.

He'd rather gamble on low success rate prospects every year on Day 3 and hope one develops into something beyond their projection. So far the best he's landed doing that is Khalil Shakir and Gabe Davis.

Agreed completely and I argued with many on X or non Bills fans and some Bills fans that it was a great trade at the time and looking even better now.

It will be a home run deal once DJM starts to produce as well .

The crying over a 2nd vs a 3rd was ridiculous at the time

Tbf, he traded a 1st for Diggs and drafted Kincaid in the first. But his other wr evaluations have been awful since.

I think the counter is the Bears might have cut him and we kinda blessed them with a 2nd. But if he produces nimver 1 wr value, who cares.

If he maintains his production level from last season it works out $405,000 every time he catches a football. Not too shabby!

Not sure how you figured that, but stats ratios per salary, I like it. Josh got about $120,000 per pass attempt last season.

$35 million per year divided by 85 catches

Surely all the Olave fanboys must love this contract as well. As I stated my opinion in the Olave post that he wasn't worth that contract, Flowers is DEFINITELY not worth this one.

Good for him though! 👍

At least Zay has a QB......

But that’s the point for Olave. He’s produced more with no QB. Similar to the Hopkins QB carousel in Houston all those years, minus the concussions for Olave of course.

There are numerous posters here that have stated that the Bills have overpaid for DJ.

I'm not one of them.
