Cook is the de facto inspiration for this type of career trajectory. And Gibbs is bigger stronger faster than Cook. My logical side says Yes for Gibbs. My emotional side says, Hell Yes Quote

I’m just going to put it out there that over his 50 games in the league so far, he’s only eclipsed 20 carries 6 times and the record in that is not that bad. Going off how he performed to end the season after that monster game against the Giants he finished with 88 carries for 272 yards; 3.1 YPC, and 3 TDs (all of which came in one game against the Cowboys) Receiving in those same 6 games: 29 catches, 237 yards; 8.2 YPC and 2 TDS (he would have had 4 if not for penalties negative the score). His receiving game and running periodically is where he thrives. Putting him a bell cow role would essentially leave him less fresh for where he terrorizes defenses. That is why they went out and got a Pacheco. A violent runner who looks for contact against a defender. Again, I’m not doubting the guy just saying that there is a good reason for him not be in a Bijan style role which is ~80% of the offensive snaps. 1 Quote

So essentially same speed from 10-40 yard range. I don’t see what you’re talking about. Cook I think (last year was eye opening) actually runs tougher “stronger” as you put it Quote

I think I’m a dream world both guys stay under 350 touches and skew as much as possible towards catching the ball in that number 1 Quote

bigduke6 Posted August 5 Posted August 5 (edited) in a couple of years when they cant afford to pay the oline, that contract is going to look bad for a RB thats averaging 60 yards per game. cant pay everybody, and as good as Bijan is, hes not Barry Sanders. if Cook sees Bijans numbers and wants a raise, he better learn to pass block on 3rd downs, cuz right now if he stays out there hes a friggen liability, and you cant overpay for a 2 down back. Gibbs is like 5 9 and change - he does not look bigger at all to me. My eye says cook plays bigger and stronger theyre comparable to me. Gibbs has a bit more explosiveness (marginal) given his 10 yards split time Quote

How do you think the Bills rushing attack would look if one of those two were the primary ball carrier? Does the offense score as many TDs? Can they even sustain drives? It would literally be all on Allen every drive. Take away James Cook and his impact and see what that gets you in a league hyper focused on stopping the pass. 2 Quote
