Who Is On Your Bills Viewing Favorite Mount Rushmore

I was thinking about this recently on who would be my top four players that I just enjoyed watching play that would be my mount rushmore and figured it would be a fun exercise for us all.

 

A few caveats before I start.

 

Josh Allen/Jim Kelly are so obvious that I am not adding them because it would go without saying. So throw them some love if you want before you put your four but figure they are the sky of the mountain. You can't miss them lol. I started watching football in the mid 90s with my dad but wasn't until 98-99 era I got into it for real. If you saw them before that go for it! ... but maybe detail who they are for those of us who did not see them. This is your list so do what you want, this is not a who are the best four Bills ever.

 

My four favorite Bills to watch play:

 

1. Doug Flutie- I said I was 98-99 when it hit football max and he was such a big part of it. He was never the best player but the guy was a blast to watch and provided some truly fun moments for a bit there.

2. Robert Woods- Legitimately sucks he left right before the team got good as he was such a good all around WR whether it was blocking guys or his ability to make some big catches. He was a guy I always wished got to play with Josh because of his skill set and what he could've done. Instead we have videos throwing his hands in the air as EJ air mailed it 15 yards over head lol

3. Shady McCoy- Blue chip player who could make soo many great plays single handedly ... while also terrifying you the way he held the ball. He holds a special place for me as he got traded and paid but legitimately matched it with his play. 2017 he had 10 game with over 100 yards combined and he was a very big role on an offense that was not super good in helping them break the drought. His ability to hit a HR play though really was a pleasure to watch.

4. Micah Hyde- The amount of times he came out of nowhere to break up a pass or create a turnover was so cool. I was thrilled when they signed him from Green Bay as he felt like a really good fit for the defense, but I'd be lying if I said I expected what came. He had many great moments and play once he arrived and it is a shame that neck injury seemed to end a career that had more years left to it.

1. Terrence McGee, such a dynamic return man, that missed TD against New Orleans was the most impressive non TD play I have ever seen.

2. Bruce Smith, the way he twisted his body and had explosion to get to the QB was easily best the Bills have ever seen.

3. Thurman Thomas, such a complete weapon as a RB and a receiver.

4. Karlos Williams, big man that when motivated was as fun as any RB to watch.

Terrence McGee was incredibly underrated and got wasted by the Bills with his time here. Dude could make so many plays and was so fast.

Without the obvious in Josh Allen, and focusing on players I can actually remember (90s teams excluded):

 

Fred Jackson - fought for every yard, deceptively slow but still made play after play for us.

Stevie Johnson  - so unorthodox, but uncoverable.  There were times where he wasn't even trying to get off the line. Just standing there for what felt like an eternity before he finally made a break.  DBs were so confused.  He had a great connection with Fitz and they were fun to watch.

LeSean McCoy - every play he was a threat to break a TD run.  He was also a threat to lose 9 yards on every play.  Great entertainment.

Milano - it was a pleasure watching him fly around. He played a fearless game.

Stevie & Milano are honorable mentions for me based on what you listed. Stevie was a fun guy easy to root for and Milano was a game breaker, bummer injuries took him out late.

 

McCoy was nuts how patient he could be before he decided to go. He has a TD vs Miami in 2015 at home where he is 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage and moves right, waits, and then explodes through in a second past like 6 dolphins for a TD. Until he decides to go he looks DOA but his willingness to wait pays off and it was just next level type stuff. Cook has grown into doing some of this stuff and has turned into a marvelous player in his own right, but Shady was like the perfected version of all of that. McCoy & Bell both has an uncanny ability to just wait and wait before they decided to attack and once they did you really had no shot it was really cool to watch.

In terms of fun to watch, I've said multiple my favorite type of player is a mulithreat RB.  I almost went with four RBs.... But I added two WRs instead.
