Beane playing the long game. 1 3 Quote

Their other gifted rookie edge rusher from last year, James Pearce Jr had 10.5 sacks and he's facing probably league discipline for 3 felony charges. Quote

The Falcons are a team stuck in drought mode - a 7-10/8-9 team at best given the QB situation. Injuries and suspensions like these to their pass rush are killers. Before last season, they were perennially one of the worst pass rushing defenses in the league, and they set about solving last year. Now they have a running back and a wide receiver with massive contracts, no good QBs (I'm not a believer in Penix at all, and Tua is Tua), and shaky personnel on defense. 1 Quote

He was dynamic as a rookie, completely silenced the doubters about him being too positionless. But the type of athlete he is really matters for the way you want to use a guy like that. I know ACLs today are not ACLs of yesteryear in terms of the treatment and rehab available but for a player of that type they can still be really impactful long term. 1 1 Quote
