Loved him in the draft and thought he was going to be a Tee Higgins type player. injuires just suck. If you expect preseason without a big injury, that is a victory in itself. 1 Quote
DJB Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Higgins is supremely talented and was going to explode this year I wanted the Bills to draft him a few years ago. Awful break for the kid Quote

Kid got some nice upside and is a physical matchup nightmare considering that their #1 is also a big boy. Not many teams have 2 corners that can matchup with both of those guys. looking at their depth chart- Hutchinson played well last year. Seems best out of the slot but with Dell and Noel also working best in the slot, he might be have to replace Higgins this season. Dell was a helluva player and a proven playmaker prior to injury. I think it’ll take some good amount of luck for him to ever be the player they thought he’d be. Jaylin Noel- great athlete with very good speed and explosiveness. Short arms, small hands. Had drop issues in college. Best in slot due to his lack of length- but he can get deep. Justin Watson- big and physical. Good blocker and rose to the occasion when he had his number called in KC. Looks like he might be the guy to benefit the most from the Higgins injury, possibly going from very limited to snaps to being a situational WR Huge loss for the Texans 1 Quote

I know I have complained about the Bills injuries but the Chargers can’t keep healthy offensive lineman every season. They have had it tougher. They lost both Tackles last year. 1 Quote

Other than the Niners, the chargers have been the most snake bitten team around imo Edited August 19 by NewEra 2 1 Quote

Big loss for Texans. Feel bad for the player but anything that gives Bills a better chance of week 1 win is good for us. Nobody should wish injury nor should they offer sympathy in the NFL. 1 Quote
eball Posted August 20 Posted August 20 I’m very pleased to see Houston getting a lot of preseason love nationally…their defense is the subject of a big SI article (I guess SI is still a thing?) and I think they are starting to get full of themselves. I can’t think of a better time to face them than W1 when nobody has any tape on the Bills. Yes, Brady has been the OC, but the tweaks (from Carmichael) and upgraded personnel (Moore, a healthy Kincaid and a healthy Palmer) are in our favor. Add in that their offense just took a hit with the loss of Higgins and the last time we saw Stroud he looked like a deer-in-headlights, and I continue to feel more and more confident about the opener. I always thought he was more of a big slot and he definitely looked better to me in that role last year (even thought he was about 3/4s outside and only 1/4 in the slot). This sucks for him though. Was an important year. Texans can't catch a break with receiver ACLs. In 2 years that is Tank Dell, Stef Diggs and now Higgins all ACLs. 1 Quote

I'd have taken him way before the 6th round. He reminds me of Nate Washington who was undrafted out of Toledo in the 00s and had a 10 year+ career in the NFL. He isn't going to wow anyone with his speed or athleticism but the dude can ball. Crafty, gets open, catches ball. I'm not saying the Texans won't miss a beat losing Higgins, but if it puts Hutchinson into a bigger role I think he has the capacity to surprise some people and build on his success last year. Quote

I agree. I thought he was a 4th round guy coming out of Iowa state. I remember hoping that we’d take Hutchinson or Parker Washington (I liked Puka too, but not as much as those 2) when we drafted Justin shorter and both lasted until rd 6. Puka turned out to be the big miss, but Washington and Hutchinson look to be on the verge of nice careers Quote

BillsFan619 Posted August 20 Posted August 20 If I’m not mistaken, he was supposed to be WR2. With Tank Dell coming back from a major injury, WR could be an issue for them. Quote
Coach Tuesday Posted August 20 Posted August 20 Ravens starting center is done for the year. Monken coached SVP in college. Trade makes a lot of sense. Quote

Saw a camp report that said this is year two in the system and Stroud is looking night and day better and more comfortable than how he finished last year. I guess we’ll see… 1 Quote
