Yup. And think of all those Super Bowl championships teams won after they fired Marty. Oh, wait, they, uh ...

Never mind, just think about all the improvement we saw on teams after they fired Marty. Oh, wait, they really didn't ...

Um, forget it. Let's talk about something else.

On the other hand... 5-13 in the playoffs... .278 winning percentage.

Outside of Bills Mafia, the team looks crazy for firing a coach after an 11-win season and a playoff win. Then they kept the GM who yells at radio guys and the owner had that presser. The Bills being a trainwreck of an organization, coupled with the rise of the Pats, seems like a predictable return to the comfortable norm to every other fan except for us, and it's something that the writers are trying to speak into existence. I'm not saying that I agree, but that's how it plays outside of our bubble. The Ravens get the national benefit of the doubt for making similar moves because they have been a model organization since moving from Cleveland. Pretty simple. Actually, the Bills collapsing will be a popular take over the next month as these season predictions get released. I think it will be a pretty universal thing, and it will only get louder if they start 0-2.

Everything you state is pretty much fact and as you also added, you're not saying you agree, but with all those things that did actually happen, understandable why people would see things a that way from the outside.  Ravens have been a model organization so they get the benefit as you also state.  Certainly national media don't have the time to study things as closely as they should, but that is understandable.

For the most part too it's only considered lazy journalism when the writer says bad things about the Bills.

"There is nothing in Moore’s resume or the Bills’ history of acquiring receivers to suggest that will be the case."

Excuse Me Wow GIF by Mashable

To be fair to the reporter, he hasn't had a 1000 yard season since 2023. And he's spent his entire career save for last season playing for teams that didn't make the post season. His best years have come with sub 500 teams where his stats were padded with a LOT of garbage time.

I believe what the reporter is referring to is that there's nothing in his resume to say that he's the kind of WR to take this team over the top in the post season. Bc he's spent his entire career playing on teams that didn't do that with him as the go to WR.

Time will tell what he looks like at 29 in the year 2026 with Josh Allen. And I definitely hope for the best. But I don't think it's unfair to question his impact as a WR1 to this point. Especially coming off the past couple years.

To be fair to the player, DJ has played with mostly crappy QBs on mostly crappy teams during his career.

When he was a rookie in 2018 his QB was the already fading Cam Newton. After that it was a parade of temporary Panther QBs (Kyle Allen, Teddy Bridgewater, PJ Walker, Sam Darnold), and then in Chicago Justin Fields, Tyler Bagent, Nathan Peterman, then the first two years of Caleb Williams' career.

In 8 years DJ's played for 6 different Head Coaches and the teams he's been on have a cumulative W-L record of 52-81 (.391).

Last year was the first time he was on a winning team.

To be fair to the player.

You can point to those things as to why you *think* Moore will be better than he's been. But that's not evidence that guarantees it.

There are excuses that can be made for him to be better than people think and worse than people think. But the bottom line is opinions vary vastly on him in a way that you don't see with the Top WR's in the NFL.

My point is that this opinion isn't lacking in evidence. And he's far from the only media member who has said these or other negative things. Moore is a very divisive evaluation at this point in his career. It's not absurd or unheard of for someone in the media to not believe he makes the difference in us winning a Super Bowl. There's another recent thread from another media member saying the same things.

Yes I know.

That's where I posted this:

All I know is that in 2 playoff games last season, Caleb Williams threw 4 TD passes:

1 to Cole Kmet, 1 to Olamide Zaccheaus... and 2 to DJ Moore.

Luther Burden did not catch a TD pass in 2 games this postseason...

Rome Odunze did not catch a TD pass in 2 games this postseason...

It'll be interesting to see what the young Chicago receivers can do now that they have to assume the mantle...

From AI (unconfirmed):

Rookie NFL head coaches achieve a historical winning percentage of roughly 44.7%.

Also, only two rookie head coaches’ teams have won the Super Bowl … ever.

“But we have Josh Allen” ain’t gonna cut it. We’ve had Josh Allen for eight seasons.

I see nothing unfair about The Athletic’s assessment.

The quote is "There is nothing in Moore’s resume." There's no hedge in that statement. Moore's resume includes 4 seasons with over 1000 yards in the NFL... Over 8200 recieving yards and 41 TD's... and he's only 29...

And he's never played with QB17...

The folks doubting Moore are usually pointing to last season in Chicago...But for some reason they NEVER mention the fact that the last games he played...2 Playoff games...he had 11 receptions for 116 and 2 TD's...

I think saying there's nothing on his resume is asinine... That's all... B-)

If anything I think we've under performed the narrative. Us and like three over teams are perennial superbowl favorites.

And Cincy is " back" 🤣

This is going to be one of the most intriguing Bills seasons we’ve had in a long while because nobody knows how it’s going to go.

Under McDermott we won double digit games 7 years in a row and have won at least one playoff 6 years straight. Which is very hard to do in the NFL. Very rare that you see a team fire a head coach with that much success. Now we have a rookie head coach with a tough schedule to match, I can see why folks would have us under 10.5 wins.

Now be “fair to the reporter” for his comment about the Bills supposed inability to acquire a receiver and have success.  Shirley that can’t be serious.  There really aren’t many WR acquisitions that have had more success than Diggs did for the Bills.  It’s just such an amazingly stupid oversight that it has to be trolling.

I will be wrong if new receiver DJ Moore clicks, but there is nothing in Moore’s resume.

There is nothing in Moores resume?  Does this dude watch football?

I’m not sure where to put this- but I’m on a cruise right now and have gotten probably 30 Go Bills.  One lady told me she was a Broncos fan from Northern Colorado.  She said her Pastor is a Bills fan.  Her Pastor wears Bills gear during service, and sprinkles in Go Bills! every service 😀

Not all rookie coaches are in the same situation.  There are a ton of variables being left out here.  Maybe A1 sauce can fill you in on them.

I know.

I was just presenting the statistics.

I think betting on the Bills to win the Super Bowl this year would be a donation.

I will never understand why fans put so much into debating what today's "sports writers" (for sake of a better term) have to say.

As for the Buffalo Bills, there is a lot of changes, nobody (NOBODY) knows exactly how the season will go.

I'm a fan, I will watch the games and root them on.

Go Bills!
