He lost me a little bit when he talked about Geno Stone and Damar Hamlin. 😂😂 The Bills secondary though has a chance to be really good. I think the key is the development of Hairston. He has the talent to be a top end CB. He was considered a potential top 10 pick prior to getting hurt. He went out and ran the fastest 40 at the combine and still ended up in round 1. It’s why I would sign Tre white and make sure he is in camp day one. also, I think the bills gave up less yards passing because of the nature of the games they played. They run the ball a ton and they openly let teams run all over them. At times it appeared they did nothing to stop the run and just let teams have the numbers in the running game and then titghened it up inside the red zone. watching teams come in and bully them up front was baffling and frustrating week after week. If you look at the ravens game week 1 or a few of the bad losses like Atlanta or Miami those teams were having so much success running the ball they didn’t have to take chances and throw the ball over and over. this seems to the the deepest corner group we have had in a while if everyone is healthy but I still think white should be signed. 3 3 1 Quote

Gugny Posted July 19 Posted July 19 Hairston was pure ass. I’m not saying he can’t/won’t get better. But he was bust-level bad. Hamlin is a PS player on the rest of the 31 teams in the league. You think Hairston was that bad? He had some inconsistencies for sure, but I also thought he had some really good moments and has some good potential. I know PFF isn't great... But for perspective he ranked 34th out of 114 for cornerbacks. Health is the biggest concern for him IMO. On Hamlin? 100 percent agree with you on that one lol 7 Quote

As much as I agree with your take on Hamlin. I have to question if you even watched Hairston. He wasn’t an all pro but he was nowhere close to “bust-level bad”. There are those like Hamlin that may start at the beginning of the year but will later be a depth player because of his weaknesses that we saw last season & the fact that it will take the rookies time to get the scheme & speed of the NFL down . I feel by mid season we will see a big difference in this entire defensive unit & the secondary will be maybe not in full bloom but will be catching on & by then the creme of those players will come to the top & every one will know who the starters are & hopefully by the end of the season they will be playing lights out !! Yes, both have their warts, but as long as neither has to be a long term starter, we will be fine. Looking around the league at safety depth, they are better then most third or fourth safeties around the NFL and have a lot of combined starting experience. And not sure about Stone, but Hamlin provides a bunch of special teams snaps. As long as Bishop and CJGJ stay healthy it shouldn't be an issue, but you can say that about most positions. Quote

I agree, tI hope the days of starting a veteran because they have more time in the system are over. One hope for the new regime (Brady) is to play the youngsters earlier. Start Hairston, get S Bell in there by mid-season. I'm hoping the reason the FO hasn't brought in players like Tre White or B Cooks is because they don't want the potential divisiveness of playing the youngster through some growing pains while what could be a more stable veteran is riding the bench. 2 Quote

I know many thought Hancock was a bit of a steal where drafted, but there has been little info about him in the offseason other than he is recovering from a surgery. 1 Quote
