There’s already a thread about JA. Here’s other Bills recognized.

James Cook - Ranked #7 RB - "He has a three-down skill set, pass-game value, inside run ability and a speed threat on the outside," an AFC executive said. "[He] has become a complete player."

Dalton Kincaid - Honorable mention TE - "A very gifted athlete. He hasn't put it all together yet, but that's partly due to injury -- he absolutely can. I expect him to."

Dion Dawkins - Honorable mention OT - "A solid starter, plays with an edge, can be good in both phases but shows inconsistent effort."

given the bills FO didn't extend/restructure Dion, I think he's got 1 or perhaps 2 seasons left with the team.  if the guy they drafted this season (4th round?) is up to speed with a quickness, it's a done deal IMO.  he's your quintessential big time talent who lets his body go/isn't always on his game.  if they extend torrence i think that's our big signal.

While I think Brown and Benford are way too under the radar, Beane better hope McDermott was holding this roster back, because when your peers view your team as a poverty squad around Allen.. that’s not just fans chirping.

The Defense has a ton of young players and guys coming off injury plagued years, so this year could be a glow up or more of the same.

The Offense.. Moore & Kincaid have to work, otherwise it’s realistic to say that Brandon Beane may have squandered the most physically gifted QB to ever play the game.

Not gonna lie.. it’s kind of jarring to see how weak this team is outside JA is viewed by other execs and scouts.

I get that we have a very complete roster with a ton of guys probably in that next tier, but still … to see it on paper like this… concerning.

This team has a lot to prove… and I’m hopeful in the stockpiling of young talent on Defense and addition of Moore to an Offense with JA/Cook and a Top 5 OL, but as we get closer, the thought creeps in.. do we have enough?

Assume you mean "other" than JA17.

It's a pretty sad list for a GM's resume, TBH.  Not nearly enough hits outside of the QB position.  Does anyone dispute this?

also an incomplete list.  Oliver and Benford are among the best players at their positions also.

Not according to the NFL personnel who compiled this list.  Maybe they're not?

Depends on what you mean by enough

Look at Veach for example

I've been pretty critical of Beane, but the list misses the mark on a few players.

Spencer Brown

McGovern

Benford

Some of our players are overvalued by out coaching staff, and in some cases, the fans themselves. We as fans are always hoping/counting a couple of guys becoming great players. Most of them just stay good enough. Seems like whenever a guy shows he can become elite, he gets hurt.

It's interesting to see that Dion has fallen from "one of the best in the league" to "solid starter".

Or perhaps the rest of the NFL simply doesn't value those players as highly as we do.

It’s spot on. Bills roster is good not great outside of JA and cook.

Spencer brown is awesome. But he gets beat too much by smaller bendy edge rushers too much to be considered top 10. But debatable

Dion I’ve always felt is over rated. He’s inconsistent. Def body / fitness issues

That’s why we’re not winning big time games w regularity to get to Super Bowl.

not enough impact players. Especially on D.

Doesn't really matter.  There is no question those guys are among the best players at their position.  They both get discounted nationally for a couple of reasons, Oliver is always hurt so they don't really think of him and Benford got labeled a zone corner only and that is all you hear about him.  Like a lefty that doesn't throw hard but still wins so they call them crafty as a backhanded compliment.

You don't need some content filling list to tell you that those guys are excellent players.

Do you have data on brown getting beat too much.  Cause my understanding is he has a very high pash rush win rate relative to his peers.  And thats not considering what he is in the run game as a physical mauler that has movement skills.

The D, particularly D line, i agree is the problem.  lots of investment and not much to show.

They just did the safeties. I counted 27 guys that received votes. Bishop was not one of them. I think this is probably as big of a gripe as any for the Bills. Bishop isn’t Kyle Hamilton but there aren’t 27 safeties better than him either.

On average, how many players do other teams have on this list? Genuine question.

We're bagging on Beane because we only have 4 guys on the mentions list, but there's no perspective or context. Do most other teams have 10?

I agree with most saying that we are lacking in high end talent.

That said- looking at the players that have been voted honorable mention, I believe we have several players that are equal to or better than players on the list.

Our offensive line is one of the best in the league.  Dion got honorable mention, but I think Brown is better.  Both worthy of being listed.  Connor McGovern is worthy of the honorable mention imo.  Considering Robert Hunt was listed, I think Torrance is right there too.  As a unit, it’s very strong and is often overlooked in terms of what they mean to our team.

Benford and Cole Bishop are both worthy of honorable mention and I believe Ed would’ve made the list if he had been healthy last season.  He was ballin.

The Bills have a good not great roster. Allen definitely makes them look better than they are. Take Allen off this team and they are probably a 7 to 9-win team with an average QB.  Less wins with a bad QB

The O as a whole has more than enough talent to win the SB. Sure we could use upgrades, but O has not been the issue. D scheme was our biggest problem since the 12 seconds. D has never good enough, missing starters constantly, too hard of a schema for most players to play in. The youth movement and new attacking D will need to gel quickly. If it does, this team can win it all.
