Just curious if anyone here is renewing their Sunday Ticket from last year. Last year because I was a new customer, I only paid around $200 for the package. This year since I would be a returning customer, it's going to cost me $480 which I really have no intention of paying. My question here is to the people that are renewing that don't have Youtube TV, have you reached out to YouTube and tried to haggle with them like with Directv to see if you could get it at a cheaper rate? And if so, is YouTube biting? I currently do not have YouTube TV so unlike when I had Directv and could just simply threaten to cancel to get a discount. I can't do that with Youtube TV. I bought the subscription separately and it looks like if I decided to get YouTube TV with it, I could actually renew Sunday Ticket for $240 but that's on top of paying $54 a month for the YouTube TV subscription. Has anyone been able to get a discount on a renewal with just the Sunday Ticket subscription? And if so, what did you do to make it happen?

I have youtube and reached out about any discounts and got nowhere. I

mentioned that I would like the same rate as new subscribers and they said they understood my position but no deal.

They seemed very ridged (unlike Directv was).

I wish they would just charge around $250. To me that would be a fair and great price for 18 weeks worth of games. $480 is insane. Apparently you can do a 12 month plan at $40 a month, but I'm not paying $40 a month for 12 months for something I can only watch for 4 months out of the year. It's nuts

This might be of help:

It isn't just vets as it also applies to first responders and people who work in medical or education that can be verified using id.me.

My wife works in education so this is the route I took last year and probably will again this season.

My dad is a veteran but I'm assuming he would probably have to put this in his name to get the discount? I don't live with my parents so I would guess I can't just tell youtube "my dad is a veteran" and they would give it to me. But I can maybe try it

I used to subscribe to Sunday Ticket till a few years back and had to subscribe to YouTube TV which really made my annual costs high. Subsequently, it is good you can get the standalone Sunday Ticket. But the new "problem" is that so many Bills games are primetime games and then there are the Netflix, Prime and Peacock exclusives that the price per Bills game on Sunday ticket is really really high at $480/yr for the ticket.

Whomever you use they just need to have an id.me account.

Which if you aren't familiar is just a website that authenticates someone's status as a veteran, educator or what not and then is used by lots of other websites for verification for these kinds of discounts or special offers.

For youtube at least it was set up pretty nice in that I could still use my own youtube account to put the subscription under and then just my wife's id.me authentication to verify the deal.

You have no leverage outside of signing up for YouTubeTV, so if you are unwilling to do that, zero chance you get a discount.  Just being honest with you man.

I kinda figured. But thought I would ask anyway. That was the one thing I liked about having it on directv is that as customers we had a lot more leverage

I canceled mine. We're going to be on TV a lot this year anyway.

Yes, I will need to go to a bar to watch the games not on locally, and yes, I will likely spend more there cumulatively than I would on the Sunday Ticket price hike for this year, but it's the principle of the matter.

The fans will continue to get bent over on this streaming stuff until they start losing subscribers.

I actually just called the number for Sunday ticket and they have offered me $100 off and said I can get it for $379. That's better but I personally would like around $350 but I guess I can't complain too much. I still have to decide what I wanna do

I've had YouTubeTV for several years now. My auto renewal is $378.00 for the NFL Sunday Ticket. And it's $80 a month for YouTubeTV subscription. It is what it is. But if you figure you go to the bar for the games you end up spending $100 to $200 per weekend anyway.

Is there anyway to just cancel and make a new account with an email and use that as a new subscriber?

Actually, you probably could lol. I may try that

I think they would make more money if they allowed a discounted rate for just one team.

You would still have your huge mass of full subscribers but the fans that just refuse to pay that full price or your casual fans would pay like $175 for one team I believe.

Actually, I just found out that they would be able to link your account to IP address and card info so even if you made a new email and tried making a new account, they would know it was you. And if you think about it, I'm sure youtube already thought all that out when they decided to take it over and not allow any loopholes

Now one thing you can do, is create a new account using a different email address and you should be able to get the "New Customer" $240 rate.

Actually, I looked into this. This wouldn't work because they have your IP address and card info on file
