Yes!  That's the last football game I played!

 

I won the dorm Super Bowl in the late 1970s with the Bills, even with the Bills' awful defense.  We finished 3-11 that year.  In real life, OJ got hurt halfway through the 1977 season - the season I think my cards were for.  But in the game, OJ was healthy and I made good use of him.    

On offense, I ignored down and distance and would just try to outguess the defense.  OJ off tackle on 3rd and 30?  Of course!

 

On defense, my card sucked so I couldn't sit back in a base defense - they'd kill me.  So I might run a goal line defense on first down and blitz on second.  High risk stuff.  I just needed to guess right or get lucky 3 plays in a row and force a kick/punt before they scored.

did any of you guys ever play nfl blitz or nfl street?  those games were awesome, lots of fun.  madden is like work, trying to simulate a real thing so the shortcomings stand out like a sore thumb.  i'd much rather a crazy over the top football game like those two mentioned above.  nba jam was tons of fun, and every basketball simulation type video game is dull and boring.  like, why do you want the game to be like watching a game on tv, but you are controlling players?  it could be so much more fun!
