Since I was driving, I didn't want my friend Petrino to have to miss the rest of the game & I didn't either.  Here's the rest of the story, on the way back to Albany Petrino decides to call The Coach, Chuck Dickerson and tell him about it.  Petrino gets on the air and after he tells the story, Dickerson jokingly asks a question, I forget the exact phrasing, but he wants to know if I did it with urine.

You can bring signs to most but they have to have certain specifications and can’t have anything questionable. Went to an nfl game last year at AT&T stadium in Dallas. It was so lame and sterile. I hope highmark won’t be tame like that one

Gotcha.  So nothing has really changed then.  People were still bringing in a decent amount of signs to Bills games the last few years but yeah nothing like it was in the late 80s and early 90s.  I love just checking out those old crowds when I'm either watching an old Bills game from then or NFL Films highlights.  Those crowds were like freaking rock concerts back then! The lower bowl padding or whatever you want to call it would be absolutely covered all the way around the stadium with people hanging up signs/banners.

This was an attempt at humor on my part.

 

Bottom line, any signs brought into Highmark Stadium must be hand held (signs used to be plastered on the walls in the early days of the old stadium) and cannot be larger than 11 x 17... pretty damn small.

Go back and watch the MNF games in '73 and '74...lots of great signs busting on Cosell and the MNF crew.

okay this is my recollection of why very organically the Batavia Party zone existed. Myself and most other Batavia brethren would buy our Bills tickets at the local M&T Bank. My guess is they were given an allotment of tickets in that endzone as a usual practice

 

So that scenario is impossible to duplicate in todays age. SO alas unfortunately Batavia Party Zone Banner RIP
