Yup. Drinking and/or drugging like a twenty-two year old when you’re in your fifties is a recipe for total disaster.

I'll give you a Butch Byrd and raise you a George Saimes

George Saimes never stood in my living room. I think he’s still trying to get over that slight. Butch is The Man!  😂

Yeah, then toss in some CTE and you have a disaster waiting to happen.

that or playing football pre social media helped keep things quieter than his current gig

I won't even say the token withholding judgement line. We don't know these people. Only a couple current or former Bills would lead me in a state of disappointment or surprise. Wiley is not one of those players. I hope it's not true, but he's also had some sexual assault allegations recently. Doesn't look promising.

Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.”

First half of this monologue is creative invention/synthesis, whereas 2nd half is closely paraphrased verse.

I'm a fellow Columbia alum and seem to recall that he was asked to "take time off" during college over some dodgy allegations back then, too.

Fuh king horrible that so many current and former NFL players and men in general beat their girls friends and wife’s, it’s no wonder that every so often a woman kills their partner, it’s truly surprising that it doesn’t happen more often,

Lol the correlation between NFL players beating the girlfriends and women who kill their partner is zero correlation

Plenty of women kill their husband and child because they're psychopaths not because they are being abused

There is zero correlation... Some men are abusers and some women are abusers

If a woman kills her husband it doesn't mean he was abusing her.. she could in fact be a sociopath

Not to piss in your a bowl of simplification but NFL players based on net worth commit drastically higher rates of domestic violence. Is it higher than the entire population? No. Is what your trying to summarize in one statement capturing the story or even showing a fleeting attempt to capture it? No.

I'm certainly not saying Marcellus Wiley is not capable of this

The person I quoted said it's sad that so many men in general have to beat their girlfriends or wives that sometimes they eventually have to kill them

Maybe you should one day have a look at the numbers of DA cases across our country, it’s pretty darn sad, it’s in the millions annually…,  and the vast majority are men beating their wives and girl friends, the numbers don’t lie, a very large number of men in this country do this sh-t every year,  all your spin doesn’t change this fact.

Certainly not condoning the scumbag men who beat women

Not at all... If I recall correctly Marcellus Wiley has a history of being accused of some nefarious stuff

But not every single woman who kills her husband was being abused.. which was my point even if men have a higher rate of abuse

Never finished his senior year and I worked with a teammate who didn't dispell the rumors.

You can safely wear a Thurman Thomas jersey. Great guy. Married his college sweetheart. (Who was from Buffalo and then he happened to get drafted by the Bills!) Still happily married to her with a big family. Lives in Buffalo, downtown and runs a company and serves on several boards including the main art museum. MVP. Class act.

I probably won’t wear another jersey other than I have an Allen (white), Kelly (blue that period the way I purchased), and my favorite my Fredex (blue).  I’m pretty comfortable with those guys.  I do think quite a bit of Thurmon, especially as a player I saw him drunk way too many times.  My brother used to be very involved at the Big Tree, and he stated in the day he was using a bit too much.  I don’t say this to slander Thurmon, but moreso he has overcomes many challenges in his life, and created a nice Buffalolife for himself and his family.  Having challenges shouldn’t be an embarrassment, but applauded for those who can overcome them at different points in their life.  God knows I certainly don’t walk-in water, nor does anyone else.

To another poster, it’s true being he,d without bail is compelling.  We’ll see how it plays out.

I've been doing jerseys with my own last name. Learned how to use my dear departed mom's 1963 model Singer sewing machine. Ordered numbers and/or name twill from eBay. Have done 1 Bills that had peeling vinyl numbers, 3 blank Red Sox, and a blue Sabres.

I can't be cut or traded and so far in my life, never been arrested 🪵.

So what you’re saying is we should all buy jerseys with your name on them? 😄
