Has anyone ever had a bad StubHub experience?

That’s probably about $10 an hour for all the time that I spent trying to get my money back. 😂😂 Feeling vindicated though.
 

This was never intended to be an advertisement for that attorney but I can say, at least in my case, he did what he said he would.

So, I sold my tickets to the Chiefs game last year. A friend invited me to sit with her. I had an extra ticket and so did she, so we decided instead of finding 2 people at the 11th hour, I would just sell mine.

I listed them late (a day or 2 before the game). I think I asked $1000 for the pair or something like that. My cut was like $896 so whatever that works out to. Before I left for the stadium the morning of the game, I switched to use the “auto upload” feature for the tickets. I figured if they sold, I wouldn’t be around to transmit the tickets. My plan was to just adjust pricing if needed.

 

Sure enough they sold at the asking price.  I go to the game, everything is fine. The next day, I’m driving home from somewhere and get a push notification from AMEX. My card gets charged $896!! That can’t be right, that’s what I am owed, not the other way around.

 

I call StubHub and am on the phone for hours. They said that I never sent the tickets and the person showed up. They refunded that person and charged me. I’m furious. 
 

The next day, I called my rep and asked if he could email me the screenshot of when, and where, I transferred the tickets to. He sent it over, and sure enough, it was sent to StubHub that morning. They apparently never loaded them on. They never transferred them to that person. They then charged me for it.

 

Over the next few months, I made dozens of calls to StubHub. I provided the documentation straight from the Ticketmaster system at the Bills. After a few months, I got a letter more or less saying, “too bad.” Now I’m even more furious, and helpless. As many of you can probably tell, I’m not quick to let things go. 😂😂

 

I have a bunch of friends still in ticketing. My one buddy sent me this attorney that does nothing but sue StubHub. I sent him everything. He has a multi-million dollar class action suit with them now. This World Cup situation will be a nightmare but this is independent of that. 
 

Last night, I received an email from him, that I am getting my money back, the penalty and interest. I don’t owe the attorney a dime. StubHub acknowledged fault in this case and hundreds of others. I’m so mad that it came to this but feel vindicated. 
 

Needless to say, I will never use StubHub again. They didn’t even really ever argue that I was wrong. They pretty much said, “too bad” until this attorney got on it. I am sure that I’m not alone in this but has anyone else ever had a terrible experience with them (or any other ticketing platforms)? 

 

As much as that whole experience sucks, it gives you some hope that there are people out there who can help you get things right. Your time and aggravation are still real, but the story ends with a good taste. 

 

I once had a client who sued Domino’s over “30 minutes or less”  so often, and so successfully, that he was practically retired on the retainer they gave him NOT to work any more. We were financing his second or third home. Nothing like finding a perfect niche, and managing it well.
