Red vs Blue Scrimmage Tickets ???

Has anyone heard when these are going to be made available for the season ticket holders yet?  
 

Also, has anyone heard if the season ticket holders don’t want theirs, if they’ll be available to the public?

Same here.  As someone that won't be able to attend a game this year because of business, I am looking for any other chance to go and see the stadium.  So, if any of you wonderful season ticket holders out there can't use your Blue vs Red tickets and feel generous enough to send them along, hit me up with a DM!  Two tickets would be great. Thanks everyone!

What I would do, if I were in charge, is set a number low enough that everyone will pay it, yet high enough that it is meaningful (and controls the crowd). Maybe like $10-$20 per ticket makes sense. Start by offering it to the season ticket holders. Give them their actual seats. I would donate 100% of the gate to the player’s charities and local charities.

Let’s split the difference and call it $15 a head. At that price you could donate $750k back if you got 50k people and covered the overhead. You could run the 50/50 in there and auction memorabilia from the old stadium and player signed stuff. You could auction off events in the new stadium, like “host a cocktail hour in the new locker room.” You could get 50k for that for 50 people. Basically market it and you’ll have companies trying to use it for business development. You could make it into a giant fundraiser for charity. Build it out like 7/16 day.
 

Basically turn this little practice into a day of giving and make a meaningful impact on the community while a whole bunch of people get to experience the stadium. I would imagine that would be a popular option for people that want to see the stadium but will have a difficult time getting tickets. Market the auction items online leading up to the event. It’s actually kind of a no brainer.

I need one more, as I’m trying to bring my gf.  We already have four from our seasons.   Don’t care where the seat is, as I’ll probably spend the entire time walking around and taking pictures. Just need entry. 

I would just create a distraction and have her hop the fence, or what Kirby said.

I am a season ticket holder and here is what I know right now: All STHers will be contacted next week with information on the event. I already know my wife and I will be issued tickets for our two seats as will all STHers. I was told any STHers who alert the Bills that they would not be using their tickets would be put up to the general public. I EXPECT few will do this as this is the first time we can get into the stadium and it is a big deal. There should be a number of seats that were not sold to fans (put aside for every home game for visiting fans and their families). I EXPECT these to be put up to the general public but I can't assure anyone as to this. I have asked my ticket agent about entry into the outside area in addition to stadium entry. No word yet but it might be possible for non ticketed fans to get entry to the outside area.

 

So, bottom line, is very few non STHers will be able to get in in my opinion. Anyone SELLING these tickets (as opposed to giving them away) should have a special spot in hell IMO. Jeesh. I have extra tickets to TC and always give them away as I have already arranged this year. And, yes, I am going to both preseason games....so don't ask.

Are the tickets for the scrimmage always for sold and not free? Will the Bills sell any tickets not used by STHs?

OMG tickets for scrimmages and blue and red are always free.  Only on secondary markets are they sold. and yuck to those who sell them IMO

Thanks for the info! Keep us posted. I'm coming in from out of town this summer to visit family and we'd all love to go see the new stadium, since the regular season games are so expensive now.

It just came out in the news this morning that the Red &Blue is now an exclusive for season ticket holders only.  From my POV, this is a huge mistake and points to elitism. I was just listening to MTC the other day, and Pat Kirwan mentions how the Broncos are doing it right.  They have 14 open practices during TC.  His point was this may be the only chance middle class and working class families can see their favorite players who can’t afford to go to a game. We on the other hand are reducing our o open practices at TC and now only the well off people who can afford PSLs and season tickets get to go to the Red & Blue.

 

There are so many WNYers who can’t afford to go to a game, but maybe a dad who is a sanitation worker or a machinest can take his boys or girls to see in person Josh Allen or Khalil Shakir.  Those are just some examples, but maybe a little boy just wants to shake Dalton Kinkaid’s jersey or god forbid have him sign his Kinkaid jersey.  That’s Buffalo.  A generous community, but many just can’t afford seasons.

 

I'm not criticizing the season ticket holders as they are only the recipients.  It’s Pegula Sports Network.  I’ve been fortunate as I could afford seasons if I lived in Buffalo, but I try and take my sons to a game in September.  Work unfortunately precluded my plans this year.  I just feel for modest making Buffalonians who love their team.  To only allow Season Tix people is wrong.

 

This is only my POV and don’t expect many to agree.  I just remember my grandfather who worked at the Pillsbury Mill for 50 years who if alive couldn’t have afforded to take my Dad and Uncle Les in this day and age.  Back in the 60’s, he definitely could take my dad and uncle to the Rockpile.

 

If you guys feel differently, I’ll respect we just disagree.

I liked my idea better. That would have given access to more people AND raised 7 figures for local charities. It feeels like a missed opportunity.

 

With that said, it’s not a surprise. The Bills main concern are the people that committed to the PSLs. That should be their concern; those are their customers.

 

Logistically, this is also the easiest option as well. They just load the tickets on and go. From the Bills standpoint they want this “dress rehearsal” for the fans as much as the staff. That’s why they’re doing it. None of us have a routine yet. Which gate do we go in? Where do we walk from there? Where is my new parking lot? Etc… It is not what I would have done but it is the common sense way to do it.

I wouldn’t have excluded them. I would have started with them. Basically give them first right of refusal. 

 

From an operational standpoint the Bills main objective of the scrimmage is introducing everyone to their new routine. It would be chaos in the preseason and into the regular season with no trial run. This will lessens those issues. If it takes you 45 minutes to enter the scrimmage, who cares. I’m not saying that’ll happen but that’s much better than 45 minutes to enter vs. the Lions. This is as much for the Bills as it is for the Season Ticket Holders. It just happens to benefit both. That’s why this was the obvious solution. 

 

I’m probably going to go even though it’s a boring event. I want to see the place. It’s the ideal opportunity to explore. I want to see all of it and won’t do that when the games are going on.

I thought having an “open house” with the concession stands open, highlights from past seasons on the new scoreboard, activities for the kids, and a couple of local bands playing, would have been an additional day to work out the kinks AND allow those not fortunate enough to have seasons a chance to see the new stadium. After all the local taxpayers helped build the stadium. Shouldn’t they have the opportunity to check it out?

Maybe they still will but it won’t be until after they give the season ticket holders a chance to see it. It may even not be until next summer or the draft or something. The first crack was always going to be for their customers.
