Kirby Jackson Posted July 21 Posted July 21 (edited) 4 hours ago, dave mcbride said: Nix obviously isn't as good as Lamar but if you look at their 2025 numbers, they're pretty similar along a couple of key collective metrics. Jackson's QBR was 62.7 and Nix's was 58.3, and both had an AV of 13. Jackson was also sacked at an unacceptable 10.65 percent rate, the worst of his career. Nix had seven game winning drives to Jackson's one, and he had a 1.8 percent INT rate to Jackson's 2.3. He was also more durable than Jackson. Again, I'm not saying he's a better player. I'm just saying that last season, they weren't far apart in terms of value and production. I don’t disagree. These lists lose all credibility, as do the players, when they do crazy stuff like this. You can’t produce a list that says, “I think Bo Nix is better than Lamar for 2026” and be taken seriously. I actually think Nix is fine. He and Purdy I probably like a little more than most but you never win BECAUSE of Bo Nix. You often win BECAUSE of Lamar. Edited July 22 by Kirby Jackson 1 Quote

If you think that there are 68 players in the NFL, including Bo Nix, Trevor Lawrence, that are better than Lamar, we disagree. You misunderstand how these lists are compiled, every year is based on preceding year reg season + playoffs for a high majority. Ie: 2026 list, is based on 2025 season Quote

Ie: 2026 list, is based on 2025 season Well of course it is. They don’t base these lists on things that happen in the future. They vote in like November. That’s all irrelevant though. There is a list out now, “top 100 players of 2026” and Bo Nix and Trevor Lawrence are rated ahead of Lamar Jackson. I think that’s absurd and cannot take that list seriously. If Lamar was like 28, I would think it’s a little low. At 69, I think it’s not to be taken seriously. Quote

I think it might speak to how some of his own teammates are feeling about him. Not even trying to dramatic or scandalous. We know the NFLN list is compiled by players filling out their top-20. So for this deep into the list, it's really a matter of how many times you get mentioned anywhere at all. A lot of these lower tier QBs even make the list because their teammates make it a point to put them down. For Lamar to fall all the way to #69, that means a lot of people left him off completely this year. Maybe on purpose, or maybe because he was barely an afterthought this year. 1 Quote

I guess that I’ve just grown to hate this particular list because of the extremes. Maybe it is because they just vote for 20 guys. Then I go back to, “who had the nerve to write Bryce Young’s name on a list of the top 20 players in football?” Quote

Most of the Falcons defense, trying to justify why they got lit up by Bryce Young 30-0 and 30-27 last year! 3 Quote
DrDawkinstein Posted August 3 Author Posted August 3 Players who just missed the NFL Top 100... 110: Tyler Warren 109: Tee Higgins 108: Brian Branch 107: Devon Witherspoon 106: Jameson Williams 105: Dexter Lawrence 104: Chris Lindstrom 103: CJ Stroud 102: Lane Johnson 101: Mike Evans... And as this clip shows, it all comes down to how many of your own teammates vote for you plus some division rivals. Quote
DrDawkinstein Posted August 3 Author Posted August 3 An update on the list: 50-41 can be found here - https://www.nfl.com/news/top-100-players-of-2026-nos-50-41 Joe Burrow dropping out of the top 10 and all the way to 44. Much like Lamar, the 2025 season was rough for a couple top QBs... 1 Quote

That's gotta count for something!!😀 Quote
DapperCam Posted September 2 Posted September 2 Allen will be #2, but still cool to be ranked the top QB in the league by his peers. 2 Quote

It's interesting to me that Allen was #3 last year winning MVP but is in the top 2 this year despite having a slightly worse season. 1 Quote

Garrett unfortunately found himself on one of the worst franchises ever. I can’t think of a guy who’s been more dominant over the last decade other than Aaron Donald. Especially on the defensive side. I know QBs and Offense tend to run higher but that’s down to opportunities to make plays. Very easy when you have the ball in your hands virtually every snap or are an absolute stud who’s seeing 120+ targets as a receiver or 250 touches of the ball like a RB. Garrett is deservedly #1. Crazy that he’s only spiked into the top 10 the last few years despite the numbers staying just as consistent and dominant. 23 sacks and a new record? Yeah. #1 hands down when you’re factoring in that Cleveland barely played with a lead. Edited September 2 by Sojourner 1 Quote
