I'm torn.

On one hand I'd like the Sunday Ticket to have the ability to see any Bills' game not televised locally, streaming, or cable. Also, it'd be nice to have my choice of any other Sunday game, although admittedly, I don't watch a whole lot of full games other than the Bills on Sunday afternoons. I can't just sit in front of a TV all afternoon, especially on a beautiful autumn day.

But...even with that discount (I could get it), how many games would I need the NFL ST for? The first half of the season several games will be nationally televised and  I'll be at the Chargers game (which probably won't be shown in Atl). So, maybe I'd need the Sunday ticket for at most 1 or 2 games for the first half of the season.

Same for the second half - though at that point I could probably get the late partial season discount.

$200 is affordable, but for only maybe 3 Bills games it's not a good value when I can wait until December, pay small partial season, and see the final 2 games against the Dolphins and Jets if they're not on locally.

The other thing about those last two games against bad opponents is that so many other games will be shown on NYE, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday night, Monday, etc., making the odds much better that at least one of those games may be shown locally in Atlanta.

I really miss the days of Directv when they gave away the NFL free just to retain customers. They'd usually throw in some movie channels to boot.

Side note: the other really nice feature with Directv was the ability to set the DVR recording time for kickoff, begin watching an hour into it, skip halftime chatter and all the stupid ads for Young Sheldon, and finish up at approximately the same time that the game ends. With Youtube streaming, that option doesn't exist, as far as I know. If you come in late I believe there's a 'catch-up' highlight thing that Youtube can do where they'll show what they determine to be 'key plays',  but it's not quite the same.

With YouTubeTV if you start watching the game an hour into it, as long as you've set the game to record you can choose to watch from the beginning, then fast forward thru any commercials.

That’s why I stay on the sidelines. Late in the year they usually do a $50 special. If I ever do it, it’s just for that. The Bills will probably play less than 5 totals games this season that most of us wouldn’t get with national TV games and common OTT services. I have a great Bills bar in San Diego. That brings me down to 3 games or less. I would say maybe do it because I enjoy football so much, but we have Thursday night NFL, Friday and Saturday College, Sunday and Monday NFL. It’s already loaded.

DUDE hit me up if you want to game watch at PB Local. It's a blast I'd love to go again

we bought the end of the year special last year too. We called for pricing recently  and were given a discount for the season off the full price but it was still $375.00 . we haven't pulled the trigger yet. I need to think about it.

Thanks man, really appreciate it 👍

My wife is currently not speaking to me however, because I don’t like the t shirt she chose for me for Father’s Day, my older daughter even told her I wouldn’t like it but she didn’t listen 😂

Sounds like my wife.  Stubborn as a mule, but love her to death.

We will be going this year for sure. Maybe even week 1 as I don’t think it will be a national TV game. Getting back from Greece right around that time but should be good to go!

Thanks for the heads up OP. Did this last year via id.me as my wife is a doctor. Added on Sunday ticket - $240 instead of the $522 normal price. It’s a no brainer for me as the rest of my family is not savvy enough to navigate the “free” options.

Here’s the full list that can qualify:

This discounted price of “NFL Sunday Ticket” is open to eligible U.S. Military Members, Veterans, First Responders, Medical Community, and Teachers in the United States, as verified through ID.me. This discount will apply to the NFL Sunday Ticket subscription via Primetime Channels on YouTube. New and Existing Subscribers are eligible for this special offer.

Is the DVR feature available for subscribers who only want the NFL Sunday Ticket, or is having a YouTube subscription for other programming necessary?

It’s available for just ST subscribers.

So if you get Sunday Ticket strictly for the Bills, it can be seen as not worth it.

Looking at the schedule, and being in the DC area with conflicts with Ravens and Redskins*, I may miss up to nine games without Sunday Ticket.  Certainly worth it for me.

Just got the vet discount for Sunday Ticket through ID.me.

Note:  If you already had Sunday Ticket you will need to cancel subscription and THEN sign up for the veteran discount.

FWIW.

Yep....just discovered this for myself.  Was about to post it.

Thanks, Ned (OP)!  I'll buy you a beer at a game (that's about half the savings though...hmm). :)

Snow bird here, I watch Bills local when in WNY for the fall.  But, when I go south, I get the $50  (they charge $60 utubetv customers) deal when in Fl for the second half of the season.  Worth it as the bar scene can be variable in Fl with customers from most NFL locations east of the Mississippi and fans of the Fl local teams.

My daughter is a student so she can get us a student discount.  She's a student in medical school so she can also get us the 'medical community' discount.  She's going to med school on an army scholarship as a First-Lieutenant so she can get us the US Military Member discount.

And my wife's a teacher so we can get the teacher discount.

And I'm a vet.

If I just use one of the discounts, I'm paying $30 per game for the 8 games on Sunday Ticket.  I'm okay with that.

But I'm thinking that with all my discounts, Sunday Ticket will be paying me to watch Bills games.  In that case, I grade them "A" - not "F."
