As you said, "as a reason".  It wasn't the only reason, and that's my point -- and one you seem to be missing.

First words he mentioned was the locker room and Josh's mood at the time.  Usually 1st thing out of someone's mouth, is the most important point they are trying to make.

Pegula didn't fire McD because he saw Josh weeping in the locker room.  He finally woke up and realized McD wasn't taking this team where it should be in the post season.. that'sjust the pretext he gave....come on!  none of this was mysterious.  Same should hold true for Brady.  No logical excuse otherwise.

You're debating something that you cant be certain on, against an unknown future event.

Enough said.  Minds are made up on McD.

Instead of trying to make some statement about 2+ years into the future, focus on the now.

Regardless of what was explicitly stated by Pegula (or not), there's a ton of pressure on Brady.

In fact there are scenarios where Brady is one and done. For instance, is everyone certain that Pegula would retain him if the Bills played poorly in 2026 and missed the playoffs???    I'm not.

The discussion is actually really simple.

What would happen to Brady if in his first season:

  1. The Bills played poorly and missed the playoffs.
  2. The Bills played well but were riddled with injuries and bad luck and missed the playoffs.
  3. The Bills didn't earn the first round bye and were eliminated in the Wild Card Round.
  4. The Bills won in the Wild Card Round but lost in the Divisional Round.
  5. The Bills earned the first round bye but were eliminated in the Divisional Round.
  6. The Bills earned the first round bye, won in the Divisional Round, but lost the AFCCG.
  7. The Bills won in the Wild Card and Divisional Rounds but lost the AFCCG.

So there's basically 7 "fail" scenarios. Which ones would buy him a second season and which ones would doom him to one and done?

The only other scenarios would be ones relating to the specific nature of a playoff loss... for instance, what if the 2026 playoffs were essentially a carbon copy of the 2025 playoffs? This is scenario 4 above but also with the loss excruciatingly close and hinging on an official's call (or 2 or 3).

Would Brady survive in that scenario?

Brady has 2 seasons, tops, in my mind.

You don’t fire a coach who went to multiple AFC Championships, and would have went to another last year if not for a bad call, to keep treading water with the offensive coordinator who also didn’t get it done.

McD was a goner before Josh wept.

Received my notification that I wasn’t selected to receive training camp tickets. 🤬

Same, been trying for 3 plus years and nadda.  My friend has seasons and brings me to one practice, I'm lucky but still pretty stupid process.

It basically comes down to pick your poison:

1. unlimited attendance but people are 10 deep and cant see anything so it is a mess for many attending

2.limit capacity allowing a far better viewing experience for all, but also limiting the amount who can attend

Neither is a perfect scenario and I think 2. is more logical even if it stinks for many. But with the return of Red and Blue far more can at least go which is nice vs having nothing else.
