Unless the change of Head Coach is a factor? Like if Brady is really against going away I could see that influencing it, otherwise I agree.

Wait for Brady coach this team to an AFCC appearance, let alone a SB, this year before allowing him to dictate the business end of the Bills. Broken contract will cost Pegula money.

This is the 1st camp under the new contract extension, which is for only 3 years anyway.  Why would they try to get out of such a short contract they just recently signed?

new coach new stadium, new day USA! lol

you don't break a contract for a (not new, but promoted from within) coach...and the stadium was obviously well on its way to completion when Pegula signed the deal with SJF.

i think unless you have a specific hook up like this, it's just not worth it.   there's always an element of hard core fans that arrive early to get good seats, really study the practice, etc.  i have about 30 minutes of that max in me, and i start wandering around looking for the tent.

Which tent is that @teef😊

This is exactly why I don't think they'll exercise any escape clause or break the lease.

The new stadium had already broken ground when they signed the extension.

This is exactly why I feel it has a lot to do with the coaching change.

McDermott spoke often about loving TC in Pittsford.

IMO this is Brady putting another stamp on the team AND it's in alignment with being able to benefit from the new facilities AND move towards a Pittsford exit.

It's incrementalism towards inevitability... St John Fisher and the community have 3 years to prepare for life after the Bills.

Again I can't see Brady having enough juice to be part of that decision at this point.  His significant contribution to this organization so far has been 2.5 years as OC.  Pegula famously went all in on "it's not the roster (which is "fine"), it was the HC".  If Brady doesn't take this team to the AFCC at least, whta will Pegula do or say---give it another year"?  If he can't outperform McD, he can't be here 3 more seasons.

I think this year its the stadium as much as anything and wanting more time around the new facility. If it becomes a pattern beyond I think its reasonable to believe the HC is having a say in that direction change - right or wrong. As for how long Brady gets..... he gets two years and has to make a minimum of an AfCCG in that time. If he does he gets a 3rd year. Its its a max of one AFCCG in 3 years he is out. If its 2 in 3 years he probably gets a 4th year. At that point if he hasn't broken through he is out.

As is known though I personally think Terry is wrong about our roster.

If he takes this roster and goes 1 and done in the playoffs this year, what's the argument for keeping him?  He's not an outsider who's methods need to gel with a fine roster that just got better.  What does Pegula say at that point?  His chips were all in on McD being the problem.  I mean he flamboyantly pushed them to the center of the table in that off the wall press conference after the Denver loss.

Oh I agree. But he would survive because I don't think Pegula would want to admit it looked like he was wrong.

Brady has acknowledged there is no grace period for him in this job.

It is reach at least one AFCCG within the first two years or go. Question is would Pegula clean house at that point or would he let Beane hire another coach?

Yep it is burn the ships. They got Moore to upgrade their one flaw at WR plus Bell & healthier..? Palmer. Offense better f*cking roll and the defense needs to make plays. Honestly I think no SB apperance in 2 years even he may get canned.

Playing the "what if" game makes zero sense right now.  Brady is going to get at least 2, but my money is on 3 years of coaching this team.  We are going through a defensive philosophy change and it likely won't be until next year that we see the full effect/players needed to run Jimmy's scheme.

Bottom line is this team couldn't knock the proverbially door down with McD at the helm.  He achieved great things and will be remembered, but Pegula made it super clear that the team's attitude/vibe of this team needed to change - hence leadership change.  Nothing "off the wall" or flamboyant about that, just direct feedback and honest opinion of Terry's.

Brady brings a different "energy", every single Head Coach/leader sets the tone for the locker room and team.  At this point we don't know if Brady's style will be successful, but his offensive players love him and already have players on both sides of the ball praising his style heading into training camp.

But back to Training camp, decision to pull away from SJF is 100% a front office/ownership decision.  Beane, Pegula, Brady and others likely have all provided feedback, including the players.  It's a lot easier to rehab injuries at our main site, we have state of the art equipment in Buffalo/team training facilities, new stadium to practice in, etc etc.  People change their minds all the time, and perhaps McD was the one who strongly pushed for TC in SJF (he's been vocal in the past in the importance of that), so with him gone, Brady could be questioning why are we doing this trip to SJF still?  I see it as a good thing to stay in Buffalo, this team is close doesn't need to have glorified sleep-overs at this point.

I don't think Brady has any meaningful input at all in this decision.  All of what you are saying was true (new stadium, training facilities) were in place before Pegula renewed this contract.  His wife grew up nearby, his team has been going there for all but 2 of the last 26 summers and it would cost him money to back out of a contract that the willingly just signed.

If Brady doesn't knock that same door down in the next 2 years, it would be crazy to give him a 3rd year--it would run exactly counter to everything he said and did after Denver.  The owner clearly told the world that he is in a "win now" mode, not a few years from now when Brady and "Jimmy" figure it out.

Re: SJF TC, something clearly changed their mind.  And I agree, Brady likely isn't the driving force but the Head Coach's feedback is worth something.  Either way, it's a better decision to stay in Buffalo, IMO.

Re: Brady tenure as HC, Beane & Terry have also communicated that it's not SB or bust with Joe.  He's going to be given time, at no point did they make it sound like "win now" means Brady will be shown the door if results don't pan out.  Again, they let McD go because of what Terry spoke to as "the atmosphere" in the locker room post-game.  As fans, we don't know the entire story. It's more than just winning or losing that last game, is the message that I took from Terry's speech.

According to Sal C. at WGR550, between the new stadium, plus traveling to Cleveland and having to stay there for at least four days due to the Browns/Bills scrimmages are the reasons why camp is shorter this year.

Pegula specifically mentions, as a reason to fire McD, the team hitting "the playoff wall" season after season.  So if they do it again for 2 more years with Brady (who is not a new voice in the Bills organization, but a part of the former regime) and Pegula says nothing?  Does nothing?  That make no sense at all.

As you said, "as a reason".  It wasn't the only reason, and that's my point -- and one you seem to be missing.

First words he mentioned was the locker room and Josh's mood at the time.  Usually 1st thing out of someone's mouth, is the most important point they are trying to make.
