Tim Tindale Posted June 9 Posted June 9 Read the Sporting News article on the front page of the site this morning. Davis sounds like he’s had enough ceding carries to Cook and Ty. I thought he looked like he lost burst out of the backfield last year compared to year one, though he looked great as a kick returner. I thought it odd that he was bitter enough to insinuate he wants out. Thoughts? Quote

zow2 Posted June 9 Posted June 9 I'm just not overly concerned with Ray Davis. He is a nice kick returner, but RB's in general are the easiest position to fill. Their most productive years are 22 to 27 years old and then their start to tail off. Many only average about 3 years in the league. 5 2 Quote

SCBills Posted June 9 Posted June 9 I kind of don’t blame him, although there was probably a better way to go about it. Hes an older RB who is going to struggle to get a second contract worth much regardless of what he does on the field. And if he can’t get on the field, he can’t show much of what he can do. Not sure how we handle it.. also don’t really care. People will point to his return ability, which he’s solid, but the All-Pro nod should be credited to our former ST coordinator who ran a lead block return that it took the league a few games to figure out. 3 3 Quote

Mr. WEO Posted June 9 Posted June 9 Bro... After 5 years in HS and 5 in college (3 of them), the Zhamar Jammar has a lot of miles on him and is entering only his 3rd season when he will turn 27. He's a very good kick returner, but unless he starts against the Jets for the rest of his career, he's not going to be the feature back for many teams (let alone "10-12") in the NFL. 2 1 2 Quote
