The CFL has been recycling the same tired coaches and their mundane schemes for far too long. Most CFL QBs often end up playing for at least four of the nine teams before their careers are over. These rule changes are going to force coaching innovation and reward aggressive offensive coaching. The boring play not too lose types have been running the CFL for far too long. It is going to force CFL coaches to be innovative and evolve like a McVay, Joe Brady, and Shannahan and push out the play not too lose defensive minded head coaches. Everyone fears the buzzword NFL and I don't see it. What makes the CFL unlike the NFL is the unlimited motion and other nuances in the game. Not the field length, number of downs, and the size of the ball. 4 8 Quote

MJS Posted June 6 Posted June 6 Moving the goalposts back is smart. It makes field goals harder, so they will be attempted less, especially with the end zone still being 5 yards deeper than the NFL. Not sure they should lengthen the play clock by that much, though. That is a significant change that will be felt. The pace will be much slower now. The pace of the game and the movement, along with the fewer downs, is what makes the CFL really different. 2 Quote

There is enough going on where all the teams have decent standing and fan bases. It’d be a really interesting situation to see those 2 leagues combined IMO 1 Quote
