Kirby Jackson Posted Wednesday at 11:56 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:56 PM (edited) The topic says it all. It’s an interesting case. I lean yes because there is a lot to point to. The 1st half of his career was an obvious case. The back half was way different. What you say? https://www.pro-football-reference.com/hof/hofm_QB.htm Edited Thursday at 01:23 AM by Kirby Jackson 1 Quote
LeviF Posted Thursday at 12:01 AM Posted Thursday at 12:01 AM Is his case much different from Eli Manning’s? I ask that without any comment. 2 1 Quote
ganesh Posted Thursday at 12:01 AM Posted Thursday at 12:01 AM If Eli manning is not a HoF quarterback then Wilson is unlikely to get in 3 2 Quote
NickelCity Posted Thursday at 12:08 AM Posted Thursday at 12:08 AM He was much better than Eli at his peak. As has been said elsewhere, he's a unique case of potentially playing himself out of the hall of fame. 4 10 1 Quote
H2o Posted Thursday at 12:11 AM Posted Thursday at 12:11 AM Nothing about his career stands out as HOF worthy. 6 1 1 Quote
BullBuchanan Posted Thursday at 12:16 AM Posted Thursday at 12:16 AM Lmao. Not even close. 1 1 2 Quote
Ridgewaycynic2013 Posted Thursday at 12:26 AM Posted Thursday at 12:26 AM Russell Wilson retires. Does he belong in Canton? * Canton needs another Subway®️ franchise? 🤔 1 Quote
BuffaloBillsGospel2014 Posted Thursday at 12:29 AM Posted Thursday at 12:29 AM I put yes on accident but I don't think he had a HOF worthy career imo, I do however think Eli should make it. 1 1 Quote
The Jokeman Posted Thursday at 12:29 AM Posted Thursday at 12:29 AM Yeah no, his interception to lose the Super Bowl is his most memorable play and he really fell off a cliff after a good start. 1 Quote
Alphadawg7 Posted Thursday at 12:52 AM Posted Thursday at 12:52 AM People forget how good he was in Seattle...he had only 2 seasons under a 103 QB rating. He was a dumb play call away from back to back Super Bowl Wins...he blew out the unstoppable Manning led Broncos in the SB, and was a top 4 QB in the league his whole time in Seattle pretty much. The comparison to Eli isn't fair to me - Eli was never as good as Wilson was, he just happened to win a couple close SB's where his defense carried those games to squeek out a win. But I don't think he gets in - someone else said it where he is a good example of "playing yourself out" - his stint in Denver was a stain on his career, both on the field in his perception off it. Voters are going to remember those later years too much because its literally 4 of his 11 years and the most recent 4 that flamed out pretty bad after a monster trade started it off to Denver. If you look at just Seattle, he has a resume worthy of at least consideration. But, 36% of his career came after Seattle and that didn't go well at all and thats likely too big of a percentage of his career to overcome and get the votes. If he had played at a high level 2 more years in Seattle and just had a down year or 2 post Seattle, his odds would be higher. So I don't think he gets in. 6 5 1 Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted Thursday at 12:53 AM Posted Thursday at 12:53 AM At one point he looked like he was headed to the HoF. And then his career outside of Seattle happened. I think he played himself out of Canton. 2 3 Quote
NewEra Posted Thursday at 12:54 AM Posted Thursday at 12:54 AM He was dam good for a few seasons. Helluva deep ball and ad lib maestro. The ring puts him in the conversation, but I don’t think he is a hall of famer. That said- I think we will eventually get in because of the ring 2 Quote
Victory Formation Posted Thursday at 01:01 AM Posted Thursday at 01:01 AM Had he retired at his peak maybe.. But unfortunately most people think of him as the washed up version of himself.. 2 Quote

Honestly that's a good comp. If I'm not mistaken, Eli is still waiting. Biggest difference to me, is Russel Wilson threw that game losing pick in the end zone, and Eli had to epic game winning SB drives. Edge. Eli. 4 Quote
BillsfaninChicago Posted Thursday at 01:10 AM Posted Thursday at 01:10 AM (edited) He is 16th all time in passing yards I think eventually he will have a place in Canton. He will definitely get there before TJ Graham… Edited Thursday at 01:10 AM by BillsfaninChicago 2 Quote

thenorthremembers Posted Thursday at 01:23 AM Posted Thursday at 01:23 AM Top 20 in both passing yards and touchdowns. One of the five best rushing QBs of all time. 10x Pro Bowler and Super Bowl Champion. He's not a first ballot Hall of Famer, but he is for sure a Hall of Famer. If Dan Fouts, Jim Kelly, and Ken Stabler are in Russell Wilson and Eli Manning sure as hell should be in. 3 3 Quote

Kirby Jackson Posted Thursday at 01:41 AM Author Posted Thursday at 01:41 AM The HOF tracker is added to the initial post. It looks like it’ll be pretty close based on that. Quote
