Not much changed from what I recall how he talked last year and the Eric Wood podcast earlier this year. But I do feel the young man's confidence, compared to the other guys interviews (Sanders, Jackson, etc.). I think he knew he can play in NFL. What I want to see is how good he can be. Hopefully his ceiling is higher than Jordan Philips who a lot of people compare him to.

One interesting tidbit is he mentioned Leonhard wants to rotate guys including positions (1, 3, 4i) so an offensive lineman doesn't always face the same guy. I'm not sure I buy that. There are about 60-70 defensive snaps to be played in a game and the rotation of 6 guys can only do so much. You have to have different technique against the same offensive lineman.

I noticed the quiet confidence as well. His face also looks slimmer. Hopefully he continues to shed the excess bad weight, and replace it with muscle.

I truly believe he's only scratching the surface and the sky is the limit with him.

I feel the exact opposite way about TJ Sanders, his interview was......woof.

Doesn't mean he can't be good, but it sounds like the lights are off up there.

Sanders does not interview as well as Walker, no doubt. But that doesn't mean he can't improve and make impact plays moving forward. Public speaking is not always an accurate snapshot of a person's aptitudes. So, agreed there.

Is it just me, the players seem substantially more amped up with the new defensive scheme as compared to the McDefense.  I get the feeling that they think they are being put in a better position to succeed…,

James Cook is a horrible interview but was the league's rushing leader

Defensive players like to attack. Especially linemen. They understand that gap control is important and all of that, but at the end of the day, the good ones are wired for destruction and want a chance to get after it.

you can see he's excited about developing his craft.  it's interesting how inspired the guys are with landon jackson getting landon JACKED SON.  if jackson ends up being a productive and effective player for us that kind of stuff can inspire a better work ethic on the team.

I know it's not exactly the highest of bars to set, but I feel like if Jackson can replace AJE's production then it's a win. Being Landon is younger and cheaper. I loved the guy when we drafted him. Looked like a killer. But, I really don't think I can remember a rookie with worse film than he had in the preseason.

I'm not holding out hope for him, so any kind of production is a bonus IMO.

Agreed, he was a stiff's stiff. Almost anything is better than what he showed last year.

Right? I mean this year the kid could trip over his own feet, land face first on the ground and have a QB trip over Jackson's unconscious body and it would be 📈📈📈

The defensive line rotation is very common in the NFL. Anyone who thought that was just a McDermott thing was wrong. Leonhard came from a defense that rotated a lot and deployed defensive linemen in a wide variety of ways.

Honestly, if he had the same career as Jordan Phillips, that would be a huge win for the Bills. Phillips just couldn't stay healthy at the tail end if his career, but he was darn good player early and likely stays with the us for his career if he could do it again.
