Urban Achievers Posted June 7 Posted June 7 I have no idea how this is run but I am going to home opener (my two sons and I go every year) and want to stop by Hammers Lot. I need to initiate my younger son to the bowling ball too. Quote

boater Posted June 8 Posted June 8 It was many years before I figured out what a TBDAHOT was. It is not a hot dog like you get at Ja-Fa-Fa Hots. Quote

Richard Noggin Posted June 12 Posted June 12 In the past, I've occasionally done the TBD Hammer Lot parking (with dashboard sign-thing for identification purposes), but I'm not sure if I've ever done the home opener tailgate. Is it the kind of tailgate that would show a few out of town family members what it's all about? Probably is. Our three guests have requested the full experience, but me and my retired mom tend to keep it pretty low-key on gamedays. So we're looking for a communal vibe and shared/potluck food situation (would definitely contribute)... Quote

The TBDAHOT is generally a laid back thing, if the guests want the "full experience" they just need to wander towards the back of the lot to see the Pinto or over to the Gorilla lot for additional shenanigans. 2 1 Quote

Please let me know if you want to get together for the home opener this year. It doesn’t matter if you’ve gone to 1, 25 or if you have never attended one. Everyone’s welcome! Even if you don’t plan on going inside for the game. With regards to this topic, I do not have any interest in people who are going and plan to het together elsewhere. Enjoy yourself, be safe, but do not talk about it in this topic. I don’t want to officially speak for others, but I believe me, Jay Rosen, and Guffalo are definitely carrying on the tradition. Who else? SDS, I’m glad you’re keeping the tradition going, and if it weren’t for a flight from Tampa, etc., I’d be there. We usually reserve that trip for a game early in the season. I’m fortunate as I have a family member who’s worked for the Sabres for 25 years, and can always find a couple of tix. We have to pay fair market value, but are not price gauged either. So I’ll see some of you guys the weekend we can get up there. Usually it’s my two sons, and one of my nephews who is close to my sons. My whole family may fly up, but that’s as my other sisters hosts a family reunion the Saturday before. It’s actually the highlight of my fall each year. We have a very large Irish Catholic family. Last year, only half made it, and there were over 70 people in the house, garage, and large backyard. Quote
Sojourner Posted June 27 Posted June 27 Can’t afford it for 3 of us. Good luck to all who go! Give ‘em hell! Quote
rockpile Posted July 4 Posted July 4 I plan on being there for the tailgate and atmosphere and connecting with old and new friends. I have been to 20+ tailgates but missed the last two years. I will be going back to Rochester to watch the game but will be driving in for the TBDAHOT. I remember the good old days when the tailgate started on Saturday night at Danny's and waking up in a tent or camper already at Hammer's Lot Sunday morning. Before Hammers, we used to meet near Lot 1 Pole 6. LOL 2 Quote
eball Posted Tuesday at 06:17 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:17 PM I think Hammer is selling his lot…that right @Hammers Lot? Quote
