I understand things may look drastically different this year, but I want to get a sense who’s up for keeping this tradition going!

Please let me know if you want to get together for the home opener this year. It doesn’t matter if you’ve gone to 1, 25 or if you have never attended one. Everyone’s welcome! Even if you don’t plan on going inside for the game.

With regards to this topic, I do not have any interest in people who are going and plan to het together elsewhere. Enjoy yourself, be safe, but do not talk about it in this topic.

I don’t want to officially speak for others, but I believe me, Jay Rosen, and Guffalo are definitely carrying on the tradition.

Who else?

Hi SDS and TBD,

I attend the home opener most years and will be attending this year!  I have never attended the event you are talking about.

My family and friends tailgate off Abbott Rd.  We always arrive no matter the kickoff time around 8am.  This year will be no exception.

Since I will have a good 10 hours of time before going into the new stadium, maybe I'll come by for a bit.

With all that said, what is the event?  Do a bunch of TBD people just meet at a tailgate?  Do we need to bring anything?  Pay?  Some details would be helpful for a newbie like me.

Thanks!

Ummm, hello? 27 years, here. Guff and I are the last two to have been to every TBDAHOT.

I’ve never attended one of these, even though I’ve met several of you over the years. We always have had other tailgating obligations with friends we were visiting. Those friends did not buy tickets in the new barn, however, so I’d like to keep this open as a possibility. I wouldn’t need a parking spot as we have a season parking pass.

For those and others who have never headed over it's pretty easy to find everyone. There's sometimes a banner. But you'll see lots of folks that are regulars and easy to recognize.

Rich is about 8'4 and a smile as big as can be, Rosen has a skirt on most of the day, cletus looks like he just crawled out of the Pennsylvania back country, mead and his will offer you stromboli, mr ags is built like a tree stump, plenz maybe awake, heitz will be wherever there is music...so many folks.

We will be there, looking forward to this one, stopped by the place today, strange to see half of the old one in a shambles, but the new one looks pretty sweet.

Will the old one be down before OpeningNight or will it take longer?

Im no expert, but they seem to be 1/3 of the way done. The Jumbotron is gone and that end seems to be the starting point, I cant figure out how to load the pics, but I can still see my seats from the Abbott road end zone. (section 132)

my apologies for not answering you sooner… this is just a tailgate the website has been doing since 1999. Technically, no one needs to bring anything, especially if you’re already set up elsewhere. However, the tailgate runs on the overwhelming generosity of those who come and share. It’s a big benefit to those of us who travel long distances in can’t really bring a set up to cook. I usually contribute breakfast items and stuff like that. Whatever I can purchase at Wegmans. Do not feel obligated to bring anything, but you are obligated to stop by and say hi!

in the early years we had 100 to 120 people. When you’re at a band! 27 years later it’s a little different. We can’t make any promises other than a solid group of Bill’s fans will be there preparing to enter our new home.

We hope you’ll stop by!

Sorry Jack. I didn’t have any sort of confirmation that you would be going and I didn’t want to speak for you. I had just got done talking to Jay about some golfing stuff and we started on this topic.

I’m a pass this year.  I truly hope you all top a few maybe one for me.  You guys know I luv my TBD guys.  Agreed with SDS, be safe and uber is your friend.  I hate it as my schedule doesn’t allow me to go to a game this year.  I’ll be there probably next year.  I’m also missing my college fraternity weekend, this weekend.  Stinks as it was the 75th anniversary.  All my guys will be there.  Never thought I’d regret a weekend not in Oswego, NY.

Given the importance of the home opener tailgate this year and the fact that we don't have a lot of our normal folks coming, I'll see if I can drag our crew over.
