How much better is Brown than Diggs at this point, if at all?

Depends what you want to do. They struggled being consistent downfield and that is where AJ Brown is at his best. Diggs is an intermediate worker of the field and still, at times, a damn good one too.

They signed Doubs who’ll fill in that side of things Diggs would work. AJ Brown is the signing they needed.

kudos to them I guess?

Pats WR room vastly different now.

WR1 - Brown

WR2 - Dobbs

WR3 - Boutte/ Douglas/Williams

I think either Boutte or Douglas traded make up some draft cap add in an overhauled OLine and well the O is going be a lot different.

To my knowledge Brown has never screamed in Josh’s face on the sideline, so that is a plus. On the whole it may be a wash.

Oddly enough I’m sure many fans, especially of our team will tell you it’s not great but in retrospect the combo of Doubs and a trade for Brown was something I saw many people willing to go with as additions to Shakir/Kincaid for Josh.

Sadly that’s a big upgrade for the Pats, at least to me.

Please AJ, give a shout out to Dianna Russini when you are giving your first interview. The Pats have made the most of seemingly a weak market for Brown. Boo!

It's a "win now" move for the Pats.

It makes sense on the level that they were just in the SB.  But it's illogical when you look at the context of how they made that SB.

I took it as a “ok you have a true one now Maye let’s see what you can do!”

You’re having either Boutte. Or Douglas being a 3 where they SHOULD be really good and Williams hopefully getting better and elevates himself be a true 1A  in the future with any luck.. (

Basically the same cost that Beane paid for Moore, when you factor in the year of the picks.

Yikes.

With the way future picks are weighed, it's a 2nd and a 5th rounder. That's a pretty good looking deal for the Pats.

That's an insane deal.

The Pats played the 4th easiest schedule by DVOA since 1977!! They had an incredibly easy playoff path and Maye collapsed. There is nothing about this team that is remotely scary. They’re not bad but they’re .500ish. I liked some of their offseason moves but didn’t think that they were good to begin with (although well coached).

I share the same sentiment. TBH I wanted them again in the playoffs.

Moore is older, hasn’t had a 1000 yard season in 3 years, and required a new deal….and was going to be cut. Beane masterclass.

Brown has had 2 seasons over 1075 yards.  3 and 4 years ago.

Why we make him out to be elite is crazy.

Drake maye didn't have a passing touchdown against our defense last year

And didn't Benford pretty much shut down Brown when he was matched up against him last year? In fact, didn't Benford do the same thing to a few other Elite WRs after week 6?

I get that they had an astoundingly easy pass to the Super bowl, but I think you're underestimating the value of Vrabel. His teams are always among the most competitive teams in the league. They fight for every inch, and that always makes them a tough out.

Pats won't be an easy opponent, and brown obviously makes them better.

One thing that makes me nevertheless comfortable is that the Bills now have corners who can play man-to-man. They also now have a defensive line that looks like it can rush the passer.  Add it all up, and I think the Bills have improved more on defense than the Patriots have improved on offense.

It was bizarre when he was caught by a broadcast during a game on the bench reading a book.

Weird how you phrased that seeing as he was over 1k yards all 4 years in Philly. This was a good move by a good (not great) team..

They stole our FB too, one of the best.  I believe they're going to be a run first, play action oriented offense and control the clock.  That's what I see anyway, based on their offseason acquisitions.

I think Vrabel is quite good and like their offseason. I do think last year was a total anomaly though. It was the perfect storm. I won’t be surprised if they’re 10-7 and a WC team. I also won’t be shocked if they’re 7-10. I would sign up tomorrow to play them in a playoff game.
