Jon in Pasadena Posted June 2 Posted June 2 The kids who used to do "Odell" catches are now Dads, and none of their kids do "Odell" catches. 1 Quote

This is a move to sell tickets because they most certainly aren’t winning many games. That locker room is going to implode at some point. Too many big personalities, but not enough talent. 1 Quote

Sierra Foothills Posted June 2 Posted June 2 It'll be interesting to see how John Harbaugh does without Ozzie Newsome and Eric DeCosta doing most of the roster building. He had OBJ in Baltimore so he should know what he's getting. 2 Quote
Mr. WEO Posted June 2 Posted June 2 2000 yards in 58 games since 2019. Look at that WR room now. It's like a bus stop to Planet Fitness. And this: 1 2 Quote
Marv Levy Posted June 2 Posted June 2 He made that ONE spectacular catch. That was it. His whole career is based on that. Otherwise, he's OVERRATED! 2 Quote
dave mcbride Posted June 2 Posted June 2 Fun fact: in the five year period from 2020-2024, Beckham averaged 21.8 receptions per year (he sat out 2022). If you include 2025, his average is 18 receptions per year. Basically, he’s an old Tyrell Shavers at this point. 2 Quote

The Dart story, turning into the Carter story, turning into the story about the Giants calling a meeting to discuss keeping differences "in house", which they scheduled on a Muslim holiday and Carter wasnt even there, turning into the story of that meeting to keep things "in-house" not being kept in-house itself and leaking to the press... Harbaugh has his work cut out for him, to say the least. Quote
C.Biscuit97 Posted June 2 Posted June 2 Next to the mahomes throwing an interception in training camp so he will be a bust thread, the OBJ has me might be the saddest in this board’s history. Quote

I'm going to take issue with this just because I wouldn't trade 1 Tyrell Shavers for 3 Odell Beckhams. Shavers brings a lot of other things to the table that don't involve just catching the ball. If Beckham isn't catching the ball, he's a liability because he's not doing anything else. If Shavers isn't catching the ball, he's still blocking like a madman, finishing routes to force coverage, being a world-class ST player and leading his team with a will and a level of toughness that Beckham couldn't ever hope to emulate. Beckham is a broken down track star diva, but Tyrell Shavers is a football player to the core of his being. 2 2 1 Quote

To say he’s massively overrated over one catch is just you being a hater. 1 2 Quote

He might have been a poor man's Tory Holt. Phillip Rivers was elite during the prime of his career. But did you really want him starting for the Colts last year at 44? You get my point. LOL Quote

I’m just saying.. Odell is in no way considered overrated. Any of his peers or analysts will tell you that. He’s just had bad luck with injuries the last few years. Quote

He had his glory a decade ago. But in football years, especially WR's, that is a long time. Remember how great Julio Jones was in his prime? And then the foot and ankle stuff krept in, and he was done. Quote
T master Posted June 2 Posted June 2 This is his swan song he's all done & may not even make it on the 53 but it will be a nice way to finish where he started !! 34 minutes ago, Simon said: I'm going to take issue with this just because I wouldn't trade 1 Tyrell Shavers for 3 Odell Beckhams. I so hope he comes back & doesn't get buried on the roster again because of the guys they brought in this off season, after last year he deserves better than that from this team & like you I believe he is a great fir for this team going forward !! LOL Plenty of guys have had elite years without being HOFers. Odell was excellent early in his career. 5 of his first 6 years he had 1000+ yards (the one year he didnt he was hurt) He had 48Tds in his first 6 seasons and had over 1000 yards in 12 games one year. He was very good at the start his career. He's been hurt of late, but he was far more than one good catch Quote

But he has faded, and is pretty much an afterthought at this point. That happens to a lot of guys over their careers in pro sports. That's why the truly great ones are special. They do it for a long time. But with the money so great in most pro sports (maybe hockey is the exception) in the modern world, you don't have to be special for a long time to be set for life. Tremaine Edmunds is a perfect example. Guy has made a ***** ton of money for barely being mediocre over an 8 year career. Amazing what looking like a physical freak can do, even when you don't play anywhere near that. Quote
