Coming off the memorable ‘73 season where OJ rushed for 2000 yards and the Bills rushed for 3000 yards, much was expected. It started with a thrilling come from behind home win vs the Raiders on MNF and ended with a playoff loss to the eventual League Champion Steelers. It was our 1st playoff game since losing to the Chiefs in the ‘66 AFL Title game.

Here’s highlights from the Wild opening game MNF game vs the Raiders.

Here’s how NFL GOTW series produced the season, minus the opener. Enjoy!

Wow, that brought back memories!  It was interesting how I could remember and name the player just be seeing their uniform number. Like 73 I recognized right away as Earl Edwards... not Dion Dawkins 😄.

One of the great all-time Bills games, that for some reason is seldom remembered or mentioned among the other notorious contests.

I was at the Bills' first two Monday night games - the Chiefs in '73 and then this one to open the '74 season.

Great memory of this game. Similar back and forth in final minutes to the dreaded '13-second' Cheifs game loss, but the '74 opened had better results.

Thanks for posting.

I was with my brother (now gone) for both. As I've told in previous posts, it's one of the reasons I paid a small fortune for a game in the new stadium that I'll share with my younger brother. Tradition and history. I want to see at least one game in (new) Highmark, and this is the year (God willing)
