JP51 Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Several people need to lose their job over this... Way back in the early 90s I worked for a large institution that did a mailing, it was a pre screened credit card offer... well always proof it and ALWAYS call the number before you mail out... this did not happen... someone input the number wrong at the mailing vendor, transposed the numbers and we sent 500,000 people to a 1-900 number sex line... you know, the ones that apparently billed your telephone bill per minute... this did not end well... 1 7 1 Quote
Mikey152 Posted May 19 Posted May 19 clearly AI. The D is still clearly an O. Not to mention it messed up the last part. Quote

PetermansRedemption Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Not sure how that one happens when you have the conglomerate of the NFL as a client. You’d think 20 people would have looked over that trophy before sending it out. Quote
Puckman5 Posted May 19 Posted May 19 He found it quite offensive and was rather defensive about it. Not sure there's an issue here. 1 3 Quote
Ridgewaycynic2013 Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Outrageous! * As a way of smoothing troubled waters, New England gets an additional draft pick. 🙁 1 8 Quote
BarleyNY Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Apparently the AP can’t afford editors or proof readers anymore. Quote

EmotionallyUnstable Posted May 20 Posted May 20 I really hate the age of social media. This would have just been an easy “hey there is an error” in direct and clear professional communication which the league would obviously resolve quickly. It was a mistake. Instead you post it online for extra publicity as if there has been some major injustice done onto you. It was a printing error man, get off your high horse and have some humility. 1 1 Quote

In his defense, this is an absurd mistake. If you are the maker of that trophy, and you screwed up that bad, for that big of a client (the NFL), you deserve to lose that client. They didn’t even get defensive player of the year right, spelling it of “theyear”. Edited May 20 by PetermansRedemption 3 Quote

Your forgiveness is very "admiral" of you but I don't agree with it. How does a multi-billion dollar organization allow something like this to happen? It's a failure on several levels because that's how much oversight something like this should have built-in. What a major embarrassment for the NFL. Apparently they need to sell more games on streaming services in order to avoid nickel dime mistakes like this. 3 3 Quote
