MasterStrategist Posted May 17 Posted May 17 $22-25m cap expense. 3 straight years going with has beens at QB. Very limited upside, and alot more downside --- wasting cap $, limiting young QB opportunities, and likely a draft pick not close enough to get a top prospect. Khan has to be fired after this year. 2027: Steelers still don't know what they have in Howard/Allar, likely dont have draft capital to make a move into top 5, and sitting without $22m+ they could have used on FAs Love seeing this franchise fall apart. 4 Quote

transient Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Wonder if there’s language in his contract specifying who calls the plays, him or McCarthy. 1 Quote

Rodgers at age 42/43 is probably for another "bridge" year their better option. 1 2 Quote

Schefter said they’ve reached an agreement - so it’s possible he won’t actually sign until later summer to avoid all the mandatory caps and stuff…because that’s the kinda guy he is. 3 Quote

They dipped in the Kenny Picket market but that ended quickly. Rodgers is ok as a game manager, but at this point their ceiling is one and done in the playoffs IMO. 1 Quote

I mean they have made the playoffs with Rodgers and Wilson at QB. Rodgers can still play and is a much better option that Drew Allar, Rudolph or Will Howard. The Steelers need to be aggressive to get a better option at QB, but the Steelers are still going to be a tough out each week. That roster is solid top to bottom 2 1 Quote

Howard is the best HS QB I've ever seen in person but I don't think he's got an NFL arm. 24 minutes ago, Kelly No huddle said: Even between Bradshaw & Big Ben they were extremely competitive That's a fun list to try to make. Without cheating this is what I have, in no particular order. Mark Malone Neil O'Donnell Bubby Brister Tommy Maddox Kordell Stewart Todd Blackledge? Mike Tomczak?? Cliff Stoudt??? Bferra13 Posted May 17 Posted May 17 You're gonna wanna keep drafting at 14-20 Steelers. Believe me, its really smart. Maybe Stafford will be cut loose next year... do it! Some teams just have it all figured out. Quote

PetermansRedemption Posted May 17 Posted May 17 How disappointing as a Steelers fan. Steelers fans “I’d like to tank for a real solution at QB” Steelers management “ Best I can do is 50 year old Rodgers” 1 Quote
Ray Stonada Posted May 17 Posted May 17 They should blow the team up, trade everyone for picks, and rebuild, and this is the opposite of that. Pride goeth before a fall. Quote
