I'm one of those very much looking forward to seeing what Walker can be. Being able to contribute right away as a rookie (started 16 games) and did not look to be the weak link on that D-line is very encouraging.

I found it interesting when asked the question of what position he's going to be in Jim Leanhard's defense, and he said something like "everywhere, 4i or 3, and if need to be, 0." Does not seem to be enthused about playing NT though. Eric did talk to him about his length and Walker is fully aware of the challenge.

Enthused or not,he's 330+ so he will play where they put him.  Beane even said as of the end of the draft he would start at NT.

The term "space eater" isnt what he would do.  He can still attack his gap and he "Ties up" Guard and Center.  They dont and he is in the backfield causing hell.

He not only didn’t look like the weak link, but looked to be the most disruptive D-lineman on the team.

I expect him to build on his excellent rookie campaign and take another step.

but also I don’t think he looked that worried about the possible role

Deone, TJ, Ed can play anywhere across the dline and be disruptive.

Jimmy will have alot of options up front.

I expect TJ and Ed to really eat up a lot of space on the sideline with injuries again this year, they are excellent at it.

And we all expect nothing less from you.  Misery for you 24/7

Interesting to me that last year all the same people who said walker couldn’t play and was a bad pick are now saying the same thing about IGB.   I’m pretty sure the same group were not thrilled with bishop either.

I think this is second time I’ve heard someone make a reference to playing all over the interior.

Certainly seems like the Bills are having their interior guys move up and down the line.

With the insane flex the Bills have in the Secondary, these formation packages could be all over the map.

Does our D-Coordinator speak to anyone?

Why give the competition information now? The Bills have not even installed the defense yet so the specifics are unknown.

Agreed.  I’m good with never hearing Leonhard on the mic

I think that’s just his personality. He never seems enthused about anything. Hairston is always trying to get him hype and Walker just looks at him stone faced like I’m not doing that.

People are so foolish for thinking that Walker cannot play NT... He's too tall allegedly!

Is it Prototypical height?  No.  6'1 - 6'4 is more the norm.

But we will be doing a " Same but different" approach.  The NT juat has to try and tie up 2 blockers to keep LB's "Clean".  You can do that with a guy who can penetrate the gap vs. Just sitting there and plugging it.

If G&C has to deal with 1 guy almost every snap, then the overall mission is achieved.   I see this is how Leonhard will approach it.
