Per Tim Graham

https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/general/report-bills-oust-longtime-reporter-after-new-broadcast-deal/ar-AA233oxstly,

Per Graham’s report, the new plan would keep play-by-play man Chris Brown and booth analyst Eric Wood in their roles, while legendary Bills player Steve Tasker would step in as the team’s new sideline reporter. That would presumably leave current sideline reporter Sal Capaccio out of a job

  • Buftex changed the title to Sal Cappaccio replaced on Bills broadcasts..replaced by a familiar voice

Sal is just a homer who doesn't add much to the broadcast. Kudos to him though for working his dream job for as long as he did, assuming this report is accurate. But Tasker is much better suited to the role and adds some professionalism to boot.

Now if they could only get rid of Chris "the cook is in the kitchen!" Brown.

Thought Tasker was pretty good as a sideline guy on CBS. But yeah, he’s got to play the homer role. Watch any team broadcast, be it NBA, MLB or NHL nowadays and it’s obvious, and somewhat understandable, that the locals are instructed to not deviate too far from being mostly complimentary.

Too add, next time you’re bemoaning Tasker, just think if the Bills filled the position based on the NFL’s preferred inclusive hiring standards and went in house and tabbed Maddie Glab was the replacement. She was the football sideline reporter at Tennesse.

Not a big Sal fan I take it?

To my ears he comes off as a supreme know it all. Years ago I liked what he brought to the post game radio show.  I looked forward to his handling of the caller's and the direction he pointed the conversation to. Once he drew the sideline reporter role he changed in my ears. I try and listen to him but I turn it off after a few minutes of trying. Just my own opinion.

I guess someone has to be happy with more Tasker

I would think they should be able to do better than Tasker and Sal.

Expected since Tasker already works for the Bills and Sal works for WGR still.  Astounding to me that anyone thinks Tasker is any kind of improvement.  I can’t listen to him for even 5 minutes. To each his own I guess.

I guess I must be in the minority from these comments, but for me Tasker is the Homer ad nauseum on One Bills Live.  I’d much rather continue to hear Sal than Tasker.  I like Sal, and believe he is more fair balanced knowing his employer is the Bills as the sideline guy.  He’s not going to dump on his employer.  He’s very knowledgeable and is always a good source for policies and rules, etc.

"Sometimes, change is good. I’m not sure this one, inserting Tasker in Capaccio’s place, is a smart move. Capaccio is about as locked into everything the Bills do as any member of the team’s media beat, while Tasker relies on his former playing experience, which ceased nearly three decades ago. I’m not sure the fans will be as pleased to hear Tasker’s insights during the game as they have been to listen to Capaccio for the past decade-plus."

That's a quote from the article above. Interesting take by Alex Brasky. Even more interesting he actually wrote it in the article. His point about Tasker I get, sometimes he comes off as the guy telling old war stories from back in his day, rather than here's what's actually happening now. Of course Sal could come off a little arrogant and rub people the wrong way. Guess we'll see if Brasky's right.

Exactly.  I don’t see him as arrogant, and you’re right Tasker just relies on the 90’s.  He clearly from OBL doesnt do his hw. Like Sal does on different issues.  Being in medical sales for 25 years, it Al’s irks me when you listen to OBL, Tasker often doesnt complete all his sentences and uses filler language.  The only thing that annoyed me about Sal or Jeremy is there was a time when they would out do each other in who could talk faster.  They must have been directed by mgmt to slow it down as universally around a year to year and 1/2, everyone started slowing down their cadence.

Exactly where I'm at with Sal as well. Comes across as very condescending IMO

Sal >>> Tasker >>> Glab IMO. If they wanted to replace Sal, I wish that they would have gone a different route. I used to try to listen to that One Bills Live show while on the road for work. Tasker was brutal. Glab is worse. Sal was fine IMO. I don’t have someone specific in mind to replace him but there were a couple of names that I didn’t care for, Tasker was one.

I guess if they wanted to make a change I wish it was someone else on the beat or more plugged into the Bills. I’d rather someone like Joe Marino or someone like that. I want my beat reporter to know the 2026 Bills inside and out. I want them to know the landscape of the NFL in 2026 inside and out. I want to learn from them, not hear stories of things that happened 35 years ago. If I want to hear that, I’ll go have dinner with my dad or my wife’s grandparents.

It was mentioned earlier but Tasker constantly comparing 2026 to a time when FA didn’t exist is so out of touch. That’s the big difference between he and Rob Ray. Ray is plugged into the now with the ability to allude to the past. Tasker doesn’t realize that it’s a completely different world from when he played.

Lol, I just found out about this change like 5 minutes ago. I keep getting progressively more annoyed. Tasker sucks in his current role and now we get him with a more important role. I don’t listen to the radio broadcast so I really shouldn’t care. He just brings nothing to the table in that role. Nepo baby
