All fun and games to pick on the Jets...

Except they have a Lombardi and Bills don't.

In the only stat that matters anymore, they are still ahead of Bills.

Let's hope Josh can win it all soon!

What you say is true however the "bragging rights" are based on something that happened nearly 60 years ago.

It's kind of like a guy who won a fight in the 3rd grade but now would get his ass kicked by the person he beat.

The Bills winning percentage vs the Jets is .557 and the Bills have won the only postseason game between the two.

Again I don't dispute your point but today it means very little.

In all fairness Tom Brady was a killer and probably the greatest QB of all time..

Yeah, but what makes it funny is that Brady is spotting them three full seasons of wins and they are still 9 wins behind him.

For comparison, Josh Allen has 73 wins since 2020.....the Jets are 45 wins behind Josh.

Me too. Long term, I think they end up the biggest threat in the division. That assumes they hit the QB next year. They’ll get a good young offensive minded HC to pair with him (Udinski or Webb maybe). They just have so many assets.

They had 3 1s in 2022

Garret Wilson

Sauce

Jermaine Johnson

They have won 22 games in the 4 seasons since then. I just don’t trust that ownership group to get it right

It's why I highly doubt he will take a job with bad ownership.

Also, didn't McD have skin cancer at one point, hence the sunscreen and weird cowboy-type hats?

I agree and yes he did.

Brady has more wins in The Ralph than a lot of Bills QBs did as well in their career.

Guy's record was 33-3 vs the Bills all time.  And one of those losses he wasn't playing the whole game

This def seems a look yourselves 1st in the mirror kind of thing.

Yeah the jets suck.  Pretty sure there were some equally embarrassing stats for tomo Brady and the bills during his time in ne.

Between 2000-2021 (from the turn of the millennium until Allen's third season) Brady was the winningest QB at the Ralph/New Era/Highmark Stadium... Ouch.

Off topic, but I actually like the Jets roster. Two biggest holes are at the 2 most important spots- QB and HC along with a boundary corner.

I have liked the Jets roster for years. They have had good d-line play, good DB play, good LB play, a steady OL at times throughout the past half decade, etc.

I have no idea how they stink as much as they do. They lose despite the talent.

Exactly I was not going to say it.

If they get the QB and the right HC as I don't think Glenn is the answer than they will be a problem in AFCE. I wouldn't be surprised if they become the top challenger to the Bills for the division. It won't be this upcoming season but again if they get the QB and HC figured out then they will be a PITA to play.

They should have one and done Glenn and hired McD instead

That would equate to sleeping on Aaron Glenn.

This happens every time there is a bash another franchise thread.  It gets old when the Bills were the laughing stock of the NFL in the mid-80's and for 17 years.

For every Zach Wilson we had a Joe Dufek and Vince Ferragamo.

Miami sucks now but we lost an entire decade to them.  Josh owns them now, but we literally tore the goal posts down after a regular season win.  At the time it felt great but in retrospect, pretty pathetic.

Just my 2 cents...

Go Bills and let's hope the Sabres keep winning so I don't have to care about OTA reports of how focused and dominant Keon Coleman is...

If they are horrible this year, I can see that happening... or at least them trying to get him

Just like with Cleveland, it starts with ownership, then coaching, and no matter how many great players you have...yes, even with top QBs.

We see that with better coaching and in a better run orgization that, players like Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold do have an impact, so that the team does win.

My favorite statistic for the Jets is that there are 5 teams with as many AFC East titles and one has not existed for 40 years. Pats, Bills, Dolphins all have many more. The Colts have more and the Oilers and Jets have the same.

Yeah, the NFL draft is set up to help the bad teams get better talent. The really sad thing for Jets' fans is that despite a ton of high picks, they haven't been able to turn it around. To continue to stink over that length of time, you have to blame the owner/organization first, then their GM choices, then their head coaches.

Over the last 10 years the Jets have had:

15 first round picks

13 of those picks were in the top 16

8 picks in the top 10

6 top-6 picks

5 top-4 picks (2,2,3,3,4)

Yet they have not been able to translate that into wins. Their drafts always look good, and they often get high grades because they are usually picking in the top 10 and many years they have had multiple first round picks. But then the organization somehow wastes or doesn't develop that talent.

For comparison::

The Bills over the last 10 years have had:

8 first round picks

3 of those picks were in the top 16

2 picks in the top 10

0 top-4, top-5, or top-6 picks

I recall that several years ago they had accumulated a few 1st round D-linemen and had one of the best D-Lines.  I believe they’re all gone.

I feel like Glenn is just overseeing one more crap season, to acquire more high draft picks, then the Jets will make an offer to McD.  I hope not, i’d rather see him coach in another division or the NFC.

Yeah, it would be funny for McD to go back to Carolina and start a flow of mediocre current and former players from Buffalo to Carolina.  Dawson Knox’s next team?

The Bills suffered from bad ownership for decades. Ralph Wilson was great for the AFL and the NFL, but not a good franchise owner. I’m not going to rehash all the bad coaches and GMs. Bill Polian became GM by default.

The hypothetical discussion of McDermott going to the Jets or Cardinals, is setting McDermott up for failure. He can’t change the culture with the current ownership of those franchises.

I wasn't going to get into Ralph Wilson's long history of failing Bills fans as an owner that most fans don't remember, but I agree with everything you posted.   Occasionally, bad owners luck into situations where the team flourishes --- definitely Wilson with Bill Polian --- but generally the luck tends to be short-lived.   I don't care who the HC might be -- McDermott, McVay, Belichick, the ghost of Vince Lombardi -- it's impossible for HCs to succeed long-term under ownership which has other aims besides winning football games and/or think they're better GMs than the professionals (the Cowgirls under Jerry Jones' regime).
