Vikings want to interview Terrance Gray for GM - Update: hire Seattle assistant GM instead

Sorry if this was posted elsewhere. Tom Pelissaro reported it earlier today that I saw. 
 

Before anyone asks, if hired as GM, the Bills would receive a compensatory 3rd round selection in each of the next 2 drafts.

That would open the door for Joe Schoen's return also.  He could slide right into that job while Brian Gaine remains the Assistant GM.

I believe that Gray had multiple interviews for GM openings over the last few years.  Is he just being interviewed to meet minority hiring policies, or is he just bombing the interviews?

This one could be different.  He was a scout for 11 years in Minnesota previously.

Do we know that he’s bombing interviews? Or was he just not the final selection? There’s a difference.

There are so few GM openings every year comparatively to HC openings. If you actually look at his resume when he interviewed for the Titans job , his resume was one of the weaker ones out of the candidates. 
 

I hope he does get the job as having an extra 3rd in next years draft would be sweet . In every scouting video him and Gray seem attached at the hip

I know very little about what his role has been or any of his accomplishmentsduring his time in Buffalo. But, I do know that two 3rd round picks in the coming drafts are sizeable assets. I wish this incredible man who has done the best job ever for Buffalo with nothing but pure class and professionalism nothing but the best as he moves forward with Minnesota.

Terrance has a great rep as a scout. The questions on him are more the leadership and team building strategy. 

 

But as has already been said he has strong links in Minnesota.

Everyone talks about "coaching trees" but Beane is out here building up a nice little GM tree.  The front office must be doing something right.

The scouting department has been excellent. They say day 3 of the draft is led by the scouts more than anyone else. The Bills have been as good, or better, than anyone on day 3.

100% want him gone regardless how good he is - he's not better than a 3rd round draft pick. Love this system and we need to make sure we sew seeds to make this happen every couple years.  A 3rd for trading up is a good value.
