Thanks for posting!  My reviews:

  • OLB TJ Parker — No. 99
    • 99 is usually best for a penetrating DT, but it can work on the edge.  Will need to see it on Parker on the field to know for sure, but I'm cautiously optimistic.
    • Grade: B with a chance to go up to A in preseason.
  • CB Davison Igbinosun — No. 21
    • Great choice.  21 is very strong for a tall press-man CB.
    • Grade: A
  • T/G Jude Bowry — No. 74
    • Another great choice.  Will work equally well if he comes in at OT or OG.
    • Grade: A
  • WR Skyler Bell — No. 13
    • This one could be a little shaky - maybe I've just got Gabe on the brain, but I think 13 works better for a taller and less shifty receiver.  I'll reserve judgement until I see it on him though.
    • Grade: Incomplete
  • LB Kaleb Elarms-Orr — No. 52
    • Great number for an interior linebacker!  Should work great with his body type, too.  KEO needs to do something about that last name, though.  He's starting at a disadvantage with the hyphen, but then to have that random R in the middle of "Elams"?  That's tough.
    • Grade (number): A+
    • Grade (name): C-
  • S Jalen Kilgore — No. 29
    • Not bad, but I don't love it.  Was picturing him somewhere in the 40s.  Although I guess those are really LB numbers now, so this is probably for the best.
    • Grade: B
  • DT Zane Durant — No. 92
    • Solid choice for an undersized penetrating DT.  A number in the 90s is an absolute MUST.
    • Grade: A-
  • CB Toriano Pride Jr. — No. 32
    • Yikes.  For a guy with such a great CB name, this is a real obstacle to him even making the team.  Forget about the OJ stuff for a minute - 32 works okay for a safety, but it's awful for a CB.  Especially a small, blazing-fast one.  Isn't 27 available?  That was the obvious pick, and Foolish Pride blew it.
    • Grade (number): F
    • Grade (name): A
  • P Tommy Doman Jr. — No. 39
    • Please tell me he'll switch numbers once he beats out Wishnowsky.  This is awful.  I've loosened up a fair amount on my old man takes about numbers, but seeing specialists with numbers higher than 19 still feels very wrong to me.
    • Grade: D (would be an F, but c'mon, he's just a punter.)
  • G Ar'maj Reed-Adams — No. 60
    • Ah, a nice palate cleanser to end on a positive note.  60 works great for a guard-only player, and should look good on his massive frame.
    • Grade: A

Diggs is going to ask for that number when we re-sign him.

Sure thing. They can incorporate it into the identifying number on his orange jumpsuit after he's convicted of choking his personal chef.

Everything but 18 is taken

Thanks for pointing that out (is 12 retired?)  I guess the problem is that a) we currently have ~90 players, so there's not too many available and b) there are some "regular" players (RB, LBs, etc) that have single digit #s which IMO they shouldn't.

It was a joke that obviously didn't age well. I honestly didn't even realize that the trial was going on today when I posted it.

I'm just hoping he does better than the illustrious Senorise Perry17780196895032604641292763819675.thumb.jpg.6e44176c8e193f1bc75cd62f812ac91a.jpg

Why do I always think of Gabe Northern when I see 99 on a bills jersey? Weird.

Gabe "Winter Northern "

Keith Newman was one of my favorite players too.

Everytime he made a tackle,  " hellooo  Newman " would blast on the intercom from the show Seinfeld lol

Are you saying that he didn't hit that joke down the middle.....so was it more of a "slice"??

Maybe you've rightfully decided to erase the Marcell Dareus era completely from your mind?

I can't remember.

The 96 team in Northerns rookie year was one of my favorite teams tho.

I forget what magazine it was, maybe Athlon sports picked them to win the super Bowl.  So it was a very exciting off-season.

Our 96 draft was excellent.  Matt Steven's was a great pick too. Rip

Eric moulds was a great kick returner his rookie year.

The 96 team on paper in the off-season was extremely talented and very deep. Kelly was still a gunslinger but not quite the same anymore.  He started the year horribly,  but recovered in October & Nov.  I believe they were 9-3 at one point and the 1 seed.
