Unless he can show out as a dynamic punt returner, I don’t think he has a prayer to be anything other than PS Yeah, I agree... I held the same hope for Chase Claypool... got me no where LOL 1 Quote

He may still be playing the field. With Cooks, he feels like he’s at the end and isn’t looking for big $. He feels like the right situation for a year is more important. This feels like a good fit for everyone and they agreed to circle back after the draft. I agree on both points. I guess there is another option. They pick up both Thompson and Cooks on vet minimum deals for depth. Neither has lost a step yet. Cooks though needs to be earlier vs. later so they get synergy with JA17. We don’t know how long it will take for Bell to get synergy, and Thompson as consummate pro will be plug and play insurance for Bernard and Williams. Bith can be player coaches for their respective positions for the youngins. 1 Quote

But as you said he is going to start the year on IR, but we have others that can play ST's Edited May 4 by SoonerBillsFan 1 Quote
GASabresIUFan Posted May 4 Posted May 4 Do we have any cap space to bring in anyone substantial? 1 Quote

Draft picks are confirmed at $3.3M with where we are at. Keep $4Mish for in season and you have $5Mish in cap space. That’s 2 CJGJ level deals (1 year $3.5M with $2.4M cap hit). They will use void years, etc if needed. 2 Quote
billsfan89 Posted May 4 Posted May 4 I would say Shaq would be the go to. Depth at LB is very suspect even after adding Orr in the draft. Adding Shaq gives them a legit vet to come off the bench. 1 Quote

This is a new age, use who you drafted early. I am also pulling for Jermaine Burton. Would love to see legitimate talent push out Palmer and Coleman. 1 Quote

I am going Milano... I think it would be Shaq but I think he will get a bigger offer and go there... really getting into the slow season before mini camps.. so.. maybe this will keep us occupied for 10 mins or so lol... interested as always in everyone's thoughts... Don’t think any of them really - maybe they can be added as vet PS players, but the roster is full and they have guys in for rookie mini camp that may be adds. I think with a new direction none of these guys are real fits anymore. Really needed a none of the above choice to really round out the process. 2 Quote
Thrivefourfive Posted May 5 Posted May 5 We are not going to bring in old guys. I don’t know who it’ll be, but I’d be very surprised if it’s any of those old guys in the poll. I believe Beane and company will let the young guys have the inside track to all roster spots and starting positions. If they don’t work out, Beane will draft to replace them. 2 Quote
T master Posted May 5 Posted May 5 I wouldn't mind seeing them bring back Von on a very team friendly contract loaded with incentives, knowing Von the way we do I think he would work his ass off to get those incentives & after a 9 sack year last season who knows what he might do . WE do know that the opposition will have to at the very least plan for him . 1 Quote

Yeah, I 100% get what you are saying, I do not see it playing out that way... (however I fully accept you may be 100% correct) now it may not happen for a bit like after June 1st but I do think you will see one or more of those guys back... now to your point it could be like a Poyer, Davis, Phillips thing last year when they start on the PS... but I feel like that would happen in the middle or after Camp... I feel like we will make a move with 1 or more prior to that... I just dont think Beane can help himself.. like my wife in a drug store LOL... 16 hours ago, machine gun kelly said: I agree on both points. I guess there is another option.
